The Atelier Richelieu, where this year’s Outsider Art Fair in Paris will be held.

COURTESY OUTSIDER ART FAIR

The Outsider Art Fair has named the participating galleries in its 2018 Paris edition, which is set to run from October 18–21 in the French capital. Unlike the past few French editions, which have been staged at the Hôtel du Duc, this year’s fair will be held at a new location: the Atelier Richelieu, in the city’s 2nd arrondissement, making this year’s Outsider Art Fair a 20-minute walk from the Grand Palais, which will host FIAC during the fair’s run.

Thirty-seven exhibitors are lined up to participate in this year’s fair. (The Outsider Art Fair also runs an annual edition in New York, and, though a Basel edition had been planned last year, it was abruptly called off two months before it was scheduled to open.) Included in the Paris fair will be showings from New York’s Andrew Edlin Gallery, Poznań’s Tak Gallery, and Tokyo’s Atsuko Barouh, among others.

The fair will also include a project as part of Michèle Lamy’s ongoing “Lamyland” series, which has previously been featured at the Frieze London fair and the Venice Biennale. Additionally, for the second year in a row, the Outsider Art Fair will give out its €10,000 Art Absolument Prize for Outsider Art, which goes to a living artist whose work is on view at the fair.
