Halle Bailey doesn’t let her almost 9-month-old son Halo stop her from seeing the world. In fact, the award-winning singer and actress says there are three things she refuses to travel without: her Clorox wipes, skin care products, and her adorable baby boy. Since joining the motherhood club eight and a half months ago, her son has been her favorite travel partner.
In an exclusive interview with HelloBeautiful, Bailey says her baby boy is a jet setter. “He loves traveling. He’s been on airplanes ever since he was really, really small, just because of the nature of my work. I’m so hands-on, I just want him to come with me everywhere when I do have to work, so he’s used to being on a plane,” she says.
Despite having a permanent travel partner in her son, the “Little Mermaid” actress understands the struggle in transitioning group chat vacation plans to reality. “I know sometimes we all can’t get it together,” she explains.

Planning a group vacation can cause a lot of headaches. It usually begins with many eager friends excited about spending time together. Then, the reasons why they can’t attend begin to roll in one by one. “I can’t get the time off!” or “This is too expensive for me right now.” The list of attendees slowly dwindles to 1 or 2 people ready to put their money where their mouth is and book the trip. Thus, the blueprint to why most vacations don’t make it out of the group chat.
Bailey’s latest collaboration with Marriott Bonvoy aims to help fans jumpstart their travel plans by taking their trip from the group chat to the airport and beyond. “I love traveling so much, and I want my supporters to also be living their best lives on planes.” You can read more about the partnership here.
It looks like Bailey and baby Halo have more than their love of traveling in common. The sultry soprano predicts her son might follow in her direction. “He loves music. I personally think he can have a really beautiful voice. I feel like I can hear it in his tone, even in his little coos and the words that he’s starting to say. I’m just like, you’re gonna have a voice on you,” she says.
Halo’s love for music isn’t surprising, especially since his mom is an award-winning artist and his dad, DDG, is a chart-topping rapper. If you follow DDG on social media, you’ll see a doting dad obsessed with fatherhood. Some of his most viral videos capture the dynamic duo on hilarious adventures that will warm your heart.
“He’s a great dad, but I always knew that he would be like this. That’s just the type of person he is. Halo is really, really lucky,” she says.
