Today, the art fair Frieze announced a new partnership with the Manhattan museum the Drawing Center.

The collaboration will span multiple fairs and involve Frieze making “a significant annual contribution” to the Drawing Center, as well as its executive director, Laura Hoptman, taking on the role of curatorial adviser for Spotlight at Frieze New York and Frieze Masters in London in 2019. The Spotlight section focuses on solo presentations of previously under-known artists.

“I’m delighted to be working with Frieze on Spotlight, a program that I continue to find inspiring, and look forward to working with international galleries to reveal new narratives in art history,” Hoptman said in a statement. “By collaborating with Frieze, I hope to extend my already in-depth research into the art of the twentieth century and also promote The Drawing Center’s mission and program to international audiences.”
