Born May 30th, 1943 in Oran, Algeria. Jean Sariano attended the School of Beaux-Arts of Oran the School of Beaux-Arts of Clermont-Ferrand, the School of Beaux-Arts in Paris, Pratt Graphic Center, New York, and finished his studies at the Printmaking Workshop, in New York in 1970.

The contemporary pop characters of Jean Sariano’s work are bright and alive, filled with spirit, reflecting the refreshing view of the young.

Jean Sariano has participated in numerous group exhibitions at universities, museums, and galleries, throughout the United States and Europe. He began in 1962 participating in the Salon des Arts Boubonnais, Vichy, France then went on to take part in the Quatrieme Biennale de Paris, Museum of Modern Art, Paris, 1965: “Atelier Chastel”, at the Maison des Beaux-Arts, Paris, 1967; Biennale Internationale de l’Estampe et del la Gravure, Museum of Modern Art, Paris, 1968, 1970, 1972; the Ferdinand Roten traveling show 1972-1973; and the Biennale Internationale de l’Estampe, Musee Galiera, Paris 1973.

In 1982 he participated in the Symosium de Hecho in Spain.

In 1966 Sariano held a one man show, “Sariano et le Velo,” at Maison des Beaux Arts, Paris. Then in 1971 he held two more one man shows at New York University, NYC and Harry G. Strong Gallery, Ellsworth, Maine.
