Floyd Mayweather’s daughter was ordered to pay Lapattra Jacobs $50.1 million for injuries stemming from a 2020 stabbing at NBA YoungBoy’s home.
Floyd Mayweather’s daughter, Iyanna “Yaya” Mayweather, has been ordered to pay more than $50 million for a 2020 stabbing that left Lapattra Jacobs with lasting injuries.
According to court documents reported by XXL and other outlets, a Texas judge awarded Jacobs $40,105,000 in compensatory damages and another $10 million in exemplary damages, bringing the total judgment to $50,105,000.
The compensatory damages include more than $8 million for past medical expenses, physical pain and mental anguish, physical impairment, loss of earning capacity and disfigurement. Another $32 million was awarded for future damages in those categories, reflecting the long-term effects of Jacobs’ injuries.
The judge also awarded the additional $10 million in exemplary damages after finding that Mayweather’s conduct involved an extreme degree of risk and constituted aggravated assault involving a deadly weapon. The court also found that Jacobs acted in self-defense.
The judgment stems from an April 2020 confrontation at the Houston-area home of rapper NBA YoungBoy. Mayweather and Jacobs were both at the home when the two women reportedly got into a verbal altercation that turned physical. Mayweather ultimately stabbed Jacobs with two knives, leaving her hospitalized and requiring emergency surgery.
Mayweather pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in 2022 and received six years of deferred adjudication probation. The civil judgment is separate from that criminal case.
Jacobs also sued NBA YoungBoy, but the claims against the rapper did not go to trial.
The judge ordered Mayweather to provide information about her financial accounts, contractual obligations, revenue streams and other earnings as part of the judgment.
