The NBA’s Current Top Team vs. The Reigning NBA Champions Battle it Out on ESPN’s NBA Wednesday
Episode 4 of More Than An Athlete Exclusively Available on ESPN+ This Week
Week nine of the NBA season features two NBA on ESPN doubleheaders. On Wednesday Dec. 12 at 8 p.m., the Oklahoma City Thunder and Russell Westbrook visit the New Orleans Pelicans and Anthony Davis for a Western Conference matchup. Dave Pasch will provide commentary with analyst Doris Burke and reporter Tom Rinaldi. The defending champion Golden State Warriors will host the NBA’s current top team, the Toronto Raptors in the ESPN nightcap. Mark Jones will provide commentary with analysts Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson as the two teams meet for the final time this season.
NBA Countdown, ESPN’s NBA pregame show, will tip off the evening’s coverage at 7 p.m. as host Michelle Beadle joins analysts Paul Pierce, Chauncey Billups and Jalen Rose to preview the doubleheader.
On Friday Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. top Eastern Conference teams go head-to-head as the Philadelphia 76ers host the Indiana Pacers. Mike Breen will provide the play-by play with analyst Hubie Brown and reporter Israel Gutierrez. The 10:30 p.m. matchup features top Western Conference teams, as the Oklahoma City Thunder faces the Denver Nuggets for the first second time this season. Dave Pasch and Chauncey Billups will be onsite in Denver to call the game.
Episode 4 of More Than An Athlete will be available on Tuesday, Dec. 11, exclusively on ESPN+, the premium direct-to-consumer sports service from The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International (DTCI) segment and ESPN. More Than An Athlete is an eight-part series that documents the journey of LeBron James and his friends/business partners Maverick Carter, Rich Paul and Randy Mims. In this newest episode, James talks candidly about dealing with the animosity he received during his first game back in Cleveland as a member of the Miami Heat. More Than An Athlete is from ESPN+ and UNINTERRUPTED, the award-winning digital media company founded by James and Carter.
ESPN’s The Jump will air at 3 p.m. this week, hosted by Rachel Nichols and featuring a cast of high-profile analysts, reporters and guests.
