Episode 7 of More Than An Athlete Exclusively Available on ESPN+
This week’s NBA on ESPN lineup stars Wednesday and Friday doubleheaders. Wednesday’s matchups begin when Karl-Anthony Towns and the Minnesota Timberwolves visit Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics at 8 p.m. Mark Jones will provide commentary in Boston with analyst Jeff Van Gundy. The six seed Los Angeles Lakers hosts the three seed Oklahoma City Thunder in a Western Conference nightcap. Mike Breen will provide commentary with analyst Mark Jackson.
Irving and the Boston Celtics return to ESPN on Friday night to host Luka Dončić and the Dallas Mavericks at 8 p.m. Mark Jones will be courtside at TD Garden with Jeff Van Gundy to cover the game for a second time this week. In the nightcap, Russell Westbrook and the Thunder return to ESPN when the team visits Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers. Dave Pasch will provide commentary with analyst Doris Burke.
NBA Countdown, ESPN’s NBA pregame show, will tip off game coverage for each night at 7:00 p.m. as host Michelle Beadle joins analysts Paul Pierce, Chauncey Billups and Jalen Rose to preview the doubleheaders and give halftime reports.

More Than An Athlete is an eight-part series that documents the journey of LeBron James and his friends/business partners Maverick Carter, Rich Paul and Randy Mims. ESPN’s The Jump will return on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 3 p.m., hosted by Rachel Nichols and featuring a cast of high-profile analysts, reporters and guests.
