- Subway Series Matchup Replaces Postponed Sunday Night Baseball Telecast from July 22
- ESPN Makes Two Sunday Night Baseball Selections for August: Washington Nationals-Chicago Cubs (Aug. 12); New York Yankees-Baltimore Orioles (Aug. 26)
ESPN will exclusively televise the Monday, August 13 “subway series” game with the New York Yankees – led by Giancarlo Stanton – hosting the New York Mets and Asdrúbal Cabrera at 7 p.m. ET. It will serve as a make-up telecast for the postponed Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell game from July 22 between the two clubs.
ESPN has also selected the matchup for the July 30 edition of Monday Night Baseball presented by USAA. The Milwaukee Brewers and Jesus Aguilar will visit the National League West-Leading Los Angeles Dodgers and Manny Machado, who will be making his home debut for his new team, at 10 p.m. on ESPN. The telecast will follow the previously announced Philadelphia Phillies-Boston Red Sox game at 7 p.m. and will be subject to local blackout restrictions in the Milwaukee and Los Angeles markets.
In addition, ESPN has made two more Sunday Night Baseball game selections in the month of August. On August 12, the National League Central-leading Chicago Cubs and Javier Baez will host the Washington Nationals and 2018 Home Run Derby Champion Bryce Harper at Wrigley Field. Then, on August, 26, the Yankees visit Camden Yards to take on the Baltimore Orioles and Adam Jones. Both games will start at 8 p.m. and will exclusively air on ESPN.
The Sunday Night Baseball commentator team of Matt Vasgersian, Alex Rodriguez, Jessica Mendoza and Buster Olney will have the call for both telecasts.
On Deck: This weekend on Sunday Night Baseball, the Cubs visit their divisional rival, the St. Louis Cardinals and Matt Carpenter at 8 p.m. on ESPN. Vasgersian will have the call with Rodriguez, Mendoza and Olney. Karl Ravech, David Ross and Tim Kurkjian will be live from St. Louis on Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
