ESPN today announced it has added an American League West showdown to its September Sunday Night Baseball presented by Taco Bell slate during Labor Day weekend on September 2. The division-leading Houston Astros and José Altuve will host the Los Angeles Angels and Mike Trout at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN. Sunday Night Baseball telecasts are also available on ESPN Radio, ESPN Deportes and ESPN Deportes Radio.
Play-by-play voice Matt Vasgersian will have the call with analysts, World Series Champion Alex Rodriguez and Olympic Gold Medalist Jessica Mendoza along with on-field contributions from veteran MLB reporter Buster Olney. ESPN’s MLB pre-game show, Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown presented by Chevrolet, will precede the game at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
On Deck: This weekend’s edition of Sunday Night Baseball features the Astros hosting the American League East-leading Boston Red Sox and Mookie Betts at a special 7:30 p.m. start time on ESPN. Vasgersian, Rodriguez and Mendoza will call the matchup between the two divisional leaders from the left field Crawford Boxes at Minute Maid Park as part of ESPN’s Sunday from the Seats series.
Karl Ravech will host Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown with analyst and former Red Sox manager John Farrell beginning at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
