ESPN Presents No. 1 Oklahoma vs. No. 2 UCLA in Best-of-Three Women’s College World Series Championship Finals Capping Event’s Largest Production Ever

ESPN has long been the number one destination for NCAA Division I Softball coverage and this year was no exception. More than 1,200 regular season games along with 104 Regional Games, 19 Super Regional games and 13 early round games at the Women’s College World Series have all led to the best of three WCWS Finals  between the two best teams in the country—No. 1 Oklahoma and  No. 2 UCLA , with all three games airing on ESPN. The action starts tonight with WCWS Final Game 1 7:30 p.m. ET with Game two on Tuesday, June 4, at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN. An “if necessary” game will be played on Wednesday, June 5, at 8:30 p.m., also on ESPN.

As the lead-in to each championship game, Baseball Tonight will be on site in Oklahoma City hosted by Adam Amin, joined by softball analyst Amanda Scarborough and MLB analyst Tim Kurkjian. Tonight’s edition will begin at 7 p.m. and at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, both on ESPN covering a mix of MLB and NCAA Softball topics. Wednesday’s show (if necessary) will be at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.

Beth Mowins, Jessica Mendoza, Michele Smith and Holly Rowe will be on the call. Mowins has been on the call for 26 WCWS events, Smith and Rowe for 16 and Mendoza for 13. Mendoza was a four-time All American at Stanford and a member of the gold medal winning USA National Team at the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, and the silver medal winning team at the 2008 Beijing games. Smith was a two-time All American at Oklahoma State, two-time Olympic gold medalist (1996 Atlanta and 2000 Sydney Games) and an eight-time Japan Pro League MVP.

7Innings Live: An Alternative Viewing Experience
7Innings Live will feature the Women’s College World Series daytime commentator crew Amin, Scarborough, and Tiffany Greene, joined by softball analyst Kayla Braud, brining fans an alternative viewing experience. The show will come from the studio set in the right field corner of the USA Softball Hall of Fame Stadium complete with real-time reactions and analysis, special guests and most all, a tremendous amount of fun. For Game 1, the viewing option will stream on ESPN3 with both Game 2 and a possible Game 3 telecast set for ESPNU.

7Innings Podcast
As the second season of the 7Innings Podcast winds down, the crew will release a special WCWS Championship edition previewing the matchup between the Sooners and the Bruins. The “Voice of Softball” Beth Mowins will host joined by Adam Amin, Kayla Braud, Tiffany Greene, Jessica Mendoza, Holly Rowe, Michele Smith and Amanda Scarborough. The episode will drop this afternoon on ESPN Audio, iTunes, Spotify and anywhere else podcasts are available.
