ESPN New York 98.7FM received three top honors from the New York State Broadcaster’s Association in the large market radio division. The New York State Broadcaster’s Association awards recognize excellence in broadcasting within the radio and television industry. ESPN New York 98.7FM honors:

  • Outstanding Radio ShowHumpty & Canty were honored as standout broadcast team for the second year in a row. The show is hosted by two former professional athletes– first overall selection in the 2000 NHL draft by the New York Islanders Rick DiPietro (Humpty) and Super Bowl Champion with the New York Giants Chris Canty– along with veteran broadcaster, Dave Rothenberg. The trio provides perspective and passion on New York’s biggest sports stories. Humpty & Canty airs weekdays from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. ET.
  • Outstanding Live on SceneThe Michael Kay Show was recognized for its live on location broadcast of 98.7FM’s Beach Bash featuring The Michael Kay Show in Point Pleasant, NJ. Co-hosts Michael Kay, Don La Greca and Peter Rosenberg hold an annual live broadcast from Martell’s Tiki Bar on the boardwalk of Point Pleasant, NJ where they have live performers including Yankees Legend Bernie Williams, great entertainment, and interaction with the fans. The Michael Kay Show airs weekdays from 3 – 7 p.m.
  • Outstanding Commercial —For the third year in a row, ESPN New York 98.7FM was awarded Outstanding Commercial. This year’s winning campaign was produced in conjunction with First National Bank of Long Island. The campaign highlighted a former athlete and colleague (Rick DiPietro).

 Ryan Hurley, program director of ESPN 98.7FM, said, “It is a great honor to be recognized by the NYSBA. It is a testament to all of the hard work our staff puts in every day making 98.7FM ESPN one of the best teams in broadcasting.”
