  • In the Crease – Exclusive New Nightly Highlight Show with Linda Cohn and Barry Melrose

From the puck drop until the Stanley Cup is hoisted, ESPN+ is around the ice to serve fans with highlights, inside access, news, interviews, on-demand replays of the NHL Playoffs and more. ESPN+, the new multi-sport, direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service from The Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International group in partnership with ESPN, is featuring a programming lineup for hockey fans that will include the launch of two new exclusive shows and on-demand replays of every game throughout the Playoffs.

In collaboration with the National Hockey League, ESPN+ will be the exclusive home to Quest for the Stanley Cup beginning May 4, and has also debuted a new and exclusive nightly NHL highlights and discussion program, In the Crease.

Additionally, ESPN+ is providing NHL fans a chance to catch up on any of the action they missed from previous games or series with on-demand replays of every NHL game throughout the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Games will be available on demand via ESPN+ after their live airing and remain available throughout the Playoffs.*

Beginning next season, ESPN+ will offer more than 180 regular season NHL games as part of its $4.99 per month subscription. Fans will also be able to purchase and watch the entire NHL.TV package as part of ESPN+ for an additional price of $24.99 per month.

Added Burke Magnus, Executive Vice President, Programming, ESPN, “NHL fans get a great lineup of incredible hockey programming on ESPN+. From on-demand replays to original series like Quest for the Stanley Cup and fast, fun, passionate highlights and discussion with Linda and Barry on In the Crease, ESPN+ is a treat for NHL fans during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.”

Quest for the Stanley Cup

Beginning May 4, the behind-the-scenes documentary series Quest for the Stanley Cup will debut exclusively on ESPN+. Each week, Quest for the Stanley Cup will go on the ice, in locker rooms, inside the minds of the players and coaches and everywhere in between to give viewers an all-access pass during the high-stakes Stanley Cup Playoffs and the pursuit of the Stanley Cup — often thought of as the hardest trophy to win in all of sports. The docuseries will be produced by Ross Greenburg Productions in association with NHL Original Productions.

“For hockey fans, Quest for the Stanley Cup has become the must-watch complement to the most exciting Playoffs in sports,” said NHL Chief Content Officer and Executive Vice President Steve Mayer. “There is nothing more meaningful for a player than winning the Stanley Cup. We are thrilled to have ESPN+ serve as the new home of this groundbreaking docuseries.”

In the Crease with Linda Cohn and Barry Melrose

Additionally, ESPN+ will be the exclusive home to In the Crease, a new nightly hockey show, co-hosted by ESPN’s Linda Cohn and Barry Melrose. Each night of the Playoffs, In the Crease brings viewers comprehensive highlights and analysis of each game. Additionally, In the Crease will include interviews with top players and coaches from around the league, ESPN.com NHL writers, and guest appearances from SportsCenter anchors Steve Levy and John Buccigross. A new episode will post after the action on the ice is complete for fans to watch when they want, on demand.

“I’m very excited to team up with the great Barry Melrose to talk hockey, and only hockey, every night during the Stanley Cup Playoffs on ESPN+,” said Linda Cohn. “Fans are going to love the show especially because there are no commercials and they can watch us whenever they want. That’s the beauty of ESPN+. And, Barry’s suits will never look better!”

Melrose added, “I’m really looking forward to doing this wrapup show on ESPN+. It’s going to be a blast working with Linda.  No one loves hockey more than she does, except maybe me. We’re going to wrap up every game, every night, every playoff round, every week, every month, every day that the playoffs are one. You’ll get highlights, our takes on the games, all with the energy Linda and I have for the game. Hockey fan or not, you will enjoy watching. Tune in every night after the playoff games to hear what Linda and I think!”
