Three Doubleheaders in Four Days with Postseason Implications on ESPN

ESPN has selected five games for its slate for the final week of the 2018 MLB regular season, which now features three doubleheaders on ESPN with Postseason implications. The action starts tomorrow, September 25 with the New York Yankees and Giancarlo Stanton, looking to finalize home field for the American League Wild Card Game, visiting the Tampa Bay Rays and C.J. Cron. Karl Ravech, Eduardo Pérez and Tim Kurkjian will have the call of the 7 p.m. ET game on ESPN, telecast presented by Hankook Tire. The telecast will be subject to local blackout restrictions in the New York and Tampa markets.

In the nightcap, as part of ESPN’s MLB Postseason Impact Game schedule presented by BMW, the National League West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers and Matt Kemp travel to Phoenix to take on the Arizona Diamondbacks and Paul Goldschmidt at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN. It will begin on ESPNEWS and the ESPN App with live cut-ins on ESPN until the conclusion of the 7 p.m. game. Jon Sciambi will be in the booth with David Ross and Jessica Mendoza for the full national telecast.

ESPN’s Wednesday Night Baseball presented by Hankook Tire schedule concludes for the season with the week’s second doubleheader. In a potential National League Wild Card Game preview, the St. Louis Cardinals and Marcel Ozuna host the Milwaukee Brewers and Jesus Aguilar. The team of Ravech, Pérez and Kurkjian will call the action at 7 p.m. on ESPN. The telecast will be subject to local blackout restrictions in the Milwaukee and St. Louis markets.

At 9:30 p.m., the Dodgers and Diamondbacks return to ESPN with Sciambi, Ross and Mendoza on the call. The telecast will be subject to local blackout restrictions in the Los Angeles and Arizona markets. The matchup will begin on the ESPN App with live cut-ins on ESPN until the conclusion of the 7 p.m. telecast.

On Friday, in the week’s second ESPN MLB Postseason Impact Game, the Cardinals visit the National League Central-leading Chicago Cubs and Javier Baez at 2:20 p.m. on ESPN. Sciambi and Rick Sutcliffe will have the call of the full-national telecast. ESPN concludes its 2018 MLB regular season television schedule with a previously announced game showcasing the American League East Champion Boston Red Sox and J.D. Martinez hosting the Yankees at 7 p.m. on ESPN. Ravech, Pérez and Kurkjian will have the call of the full-national telecast.
