Following the successful launch of the inaugural X Games Shanghai event this past June, ESPN, the leading action sports content provider and creator of the X Games, and REnextop Entertainment today announced X Games Chongli – the first X Games winter event to be held in China.  The event will take place February 21-23 at the Secret Garden ski resort in Chongli district within the city of Zhangjiakou, which will also serve as a 2022 Winter Olympic host venue for ski snowboard events.

X Games Chongli 2020 winter sports and disciplines are as follows:

SuperPipe (M & W) SuperPipe (M & W)

Along with world-class action sports competition and athletes, X Games Chongli will feature musical performances, art installations and a festival experience.

“I’m honored and thrilled to participate in the first X Games winter event in China,” said X Games snowboard SuperPipe rider and Winter Olympic silver medalist, Liu Jiayu. “X Games is the premiere winter action sports competition and youth culture festival, celebrating authenticity, style and limitless possibilities. I look forward to competing on the X Games stage in front of the Chinese people and helping grow winter action sports participation in China.”

Mark McMorris, a 17-time X Games and two-time Olympic snowboard medalist, added, “I’m excited and honored to be competing at X Games Chongli.  X Games is the premiere event in snowboarding, and I cannot be happier to be showcasing our sport in such an incredible country.  I hope that this will help inspire the citizens of China to try snowboarding!  We will see you all in February!”

In addition to local Chinese broadcasts and ESPN’s U.S. media, X Games Chongli competitions will be televised on ESPN networks around the world and distributed via other international media outlets and local television broadcasters in various markets.
