ESPN and ABC will combine to televise 101 2019-20 NBA regular season games, beginning with a primetime doubleheader on ESPN, Wednesday, October 23. ESPN is set to telecast 83 games, including a special Thanksgiving Eve blockbuster doubleheader with Kyrie Irving returning to Boston and Anthony Davis returning to New Orleans, and 18 games on ABC, highlighted by NBA Christmas Day and NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC. In addition to the regular season, ESPN will televise five NBA preseason games and ESPN and ABC will combine to televise up to 44 NBA Playoffs telecasts, culminating with exclusive coverage of the 2020 NBA Finals. This season, ESPN will exclusively televise the Eastern Conference Finals. All ESPN and ABC NBA telecasts are available via the ESPN App.
ESPN’s opening week features two doubleheaders beginning Wednesday, October 23. Kemba Walker and the Boston Celtics visit Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by a rematch of last year’s Western Conference Semifinals when Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers host Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets in the nightcap. LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers host Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz in the Lakers’ home opener on Friday at 10:30 p.m., preceded by Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans’ home opener at 8 p.m. when they host Luka Dončić and the Dallas Mavericks.

The ESPN and ABC NBA Christmas Day tradition enters its 18th year on Wednesday, December 25, with approximately 14 consecutive hours of NBA coverage, beginning at 11a.m. with NBA Countdown featuring a five-game slate. The primetime matchup will feature the highly-anticipated LA showdown between the Los Angeles Lakers, with duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and the LA Clippers, with the duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. The game airs at 8 p.m. on both ABC and ESPN.
ESPN will broadcast two additional Christmas Day games including the defending NBA Champion Toronto Raptors versus the Boston Celtics at noon, and the New Orleans Pelicans versus the Denver Nuggets at 10:30 p.m. in Zion Williamson’s first Christmas appearance. ABC will also broadcast two additional games as reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks visit Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers, followed by a playoff rematch between Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors and the new-look Houston Rockets, featuring James Harden and Russell Westbrook.

The NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC series will return for its fifth season with a slate filled with the league’s best teams and most compelling matchups. NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC begins January 18 with a special doubleheader, first with the LA Clippers and Kawhi Leonard visiting the New Orleans Pelicans and Zion Williamson followed by the Los Angeles Lakers taking on the Houston Rockets. NBA Countdown will air on ABC at 8 p.m. and lead into each game.
