Pictures at an Exhibition presents images of one notable show every weekday.

Today’s show: “Ellen Lesperance: Lily of the Arc Lights” is on view at Derek Eller Gallery in New York through Sunday, October 7. The solo exhibition, the Portland, Oregon–based artist’s first in New York, presents a suite of new works alongside a sweater knitted by Lesperance. The works on paper in the exhibition are part of her “ongoing project of translating articles of clothing worn by protestors at the Greenham Common Women’s Peace Camp into compositions that are inspired by Symbolcraft, a universal for of knitting instruction,” according to press materials from the exhibition.
