  • Season-to-Date: MNF Average Audience is Up Three Percent at 11.7 Million Viewers

Last night’s Monday Night Football game – a 27-14 Steelers home victory over the visiting Miami Dolphins – averaged 10,023,000 viewers across ESPN and ESPN Deportes, according to Nielsen.

The telecast helped ESPN win the night among all networks, broadcast or cable, in households, viewers and key male and adult demos (18-34, 18-49, 25-54). MNF was also the highest-rated telecast of the night across all broadcast and cable networks among key male and people demos. ESPN has now won the night all eight Mondays since the start of the NFL season, while MNF has been the No. 1 telecast those same weeks.

On ESPN, MNF’s Dolphins-Steelers telecast averaged 9,975,000 viewers, peaking from 9:30-9:45 p.m. ET with 11,798,000 viewers. ESPN Deportes added 48,000 viewers.

Through nine games, MNF’s average audience of 11,702,000 viewers is up three percent season-to-date (vs. 11,379,000 in 2018).

Local markets:

  • Miami-Ft. Lauderdale: The game delivered a 5.3 rating on ESPN and a 5.9 rating on WPLG-ABC for a combined 2 rating.
  • Pittsburgh: The game delivered an 11.0 rating on ESPN and a 29.4 on WTAE-ABC for a combined 40.4 rating.

The top 10 markets: West Palm Beach (12.7), Cincinnati (9.3), Cleveland (9.3), Las Vegas (9.3), Baltimore (9.1), Columbus, Ohio (9.1), San Diego (8.8), Providence (8.7), Seattle-Tacoma (8.4) and Denver (8.3).

Next Week:

ESPN’s Monday Night Football returns to New York next week as Daniel Jones and the New York Giants host Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys (Nov. 4 at 8 p.m. ET) in a matchup of NFC East division rivals.
