Dia Art Foundation adds two artists to its board: Lorna Simpson and Will Ryman.

The Dia Art Foundation in New York has appointed six new trustees to its board, including the artists Lorna Simpson and Will Ryman (the son of Robert Ryman, who figures prominently in Dia’s collection) in addition to the arts-and-education advocate Carol T. Finley, Pakistani-born collector and philanthropist Jahanaz Jaffer, investor Jeffrey Perelman, and real-estate investor Hope Warschaw. The new casts brings the foundation’s board up to 21 members, with nine additions since Jessica Morgan began as director in 2015.
“We are in an exciting new phase at Dia where we are reinvigorating our founding principles and enhancing our collection and program strategically to reflect more diverse and international perspectives,” Morgan said in a statement. “We are thrilled to be adding a diversity of leading voices in the fields of art, philanthropy, and business to our board.”
Through June 2, Dia is presenting exhibitions of work by François Morellet and Rita McBride in its spaces in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood, and May 6 marks the opening of new showings of Mary Corse and Dorothea Rockburne upstate at Dia:Beacon.
