Deiondra Sanders, 32, has dominated headlines recently following a public spat with her fiancé, Jacquees, and his close collaborator, rapper DeJ Loaf. Now, her father, the legendary Deion Sanders, is stepping in to help ease the tension with some words of fatherly advice.
On Feb.10, Deiondra took to X to address DeJ Loaf, suggesting that the Detroit-born rapper might feel uneasy around her, possibly due to her own feelings for her soon-to-be husband. The post ignited an online feud, with DeJ quickly hitting back, calling Deiondra “pressed.”
Hoping to give his daughter some clarity, Deion sat Deiondra down for a heart-to-heart in a video post shared on Feb. 13, advising her to choose “peace” over conflict.
“Why do you allow yourself to be provoked?” the football coach asked, to which his daughter replied, “Because people be playing with me.”
The sports icon urged Deiondra to change her perspective.
The greatest gift that I possess in the world is my ability to walk away… you got to walk away and live and smile to see another day.”
Deion received the message loud and clear.
“I know. I need to learn that right now,” she said while chuckling.
In her heated X post shared Monday, Deiondra accused DeJ and Jacquees of faking a relationship “to [sell] albums,” a snide remark about the duo’s sophomore mixtape, F**k A Friend Zone 2, which dropped Feb. 14, as well as their upcoming tour.
“Stop asking me why I’m not around. I am not allowed to be around them cause Dej would feel uncomfortable if his fiancée there. As I said before y’all got it y’all won. Hope y’all lil album sale the most y’all done ever sold,” she wrote.
DeJ caught wind of the shady post and clapped back, “Doing Press>Being Pressed.”
Deiondra got the last word, telling DeJ to stand down, suggesting that she had some receipts that she could “air” out about the hip-hop star.
“Being pressed is telling his momma Ms. Rosie how you still want him. Telling his momma u wish it was you,” she replied in the comments section of The Shade Room after the outlet shared a screenshot of DeJ’s message.
“You and yo momma mad ’cause he proposed to me. You waited to see what Que would do before u came out with your girlfriend. Waiting around year after year and never choose. DeJ keep it cute before I air all yo s**t out!!!”
DeJ and Jacquees opened up about the social media spat during an interview with Nessa on Hot 97 on Feb. 13. The “Back Up” rapper insisted that she had no “issue” with Deiondra, but she revealed that this wasn’t the first time she had gotten into it with one of Jacquees’ partners.
DeJ shared with Nessa that Jacquees’ ex-girlfriends never really warmed up to her, citing their discomfort with the “bond” and “chemistry” she shares with him. She also made it clear that she wouldn’t be attending the couple’s upcoming wedding, as she hasn’t yet met Deiondra.
“I respect people’s relationships,” she told Nessa. “But it’s also like, do y’all respect the friendship? I’ve been out of the picture and I stay out of the picture unless it’s business. [Jacquees and I] don’t even hang out as much and do the cool shit that we used to do… It’s respect.”
Jacquees suggested that Deiondra might feel threatened by DeJ’s presence, as she’s still trying to manage their business relationship. The R&B singer explained that he didn’t allow Deiondra to attend their recent music video shoot, highlighting that he wanted everyone to feel “comfortable.” Since the project was a 50/50 collaboration with DeJ, he wanted to ensure she felt comfortable and confident on set as well.
“It’s nothing to disrespect nobody,” he added.
