CSU Welcomes New Alumni Engagement Director

New Director of Alumni Engagement

Please join us in welcoming Kimberly Nelson as the Director of Alumni Engagement. In this capacity, Kimberly will develop and implement a meaningful, substantive, and sustainable alumni engagement program.

Prior to joining Coppin State University, Kimberly served as the Director of Donor Engagement and Operations at United Way of the National Capital Area. In this role, she identified opportunities for meaningful partnership and revenue growth. With more than a decade of nonprofit experience, Kimberly brings her knowledge of creating mutually beneficial relationships to her role.

A native of Indiana, Kimberly earned her bachelor’s degree in business from Indiana University, Bloomington. She later earned a master’s degree from the University of Baltimore. Kimberly regularly volunteers in the community and recently served on the board of Friends of Guest House.
