Coppin State University to offer On-line New Student Orientation this Summer due to COVID-19
As a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, new Coppin State University (CSU) students will attend orientation on-line this summer starting on June 26.
The unique and completely new orientation will be delivered on-line using orientation modules and other virtual options.
Serving as an introduction to campus, all new CSU freshmen and transfer students are required to attend orientation before enrolling in courses. Students typically attend for a day of programming in groups with student orientation leaders and meet with their academic adviser to register for fall classes.
CSU plans to welcome students back to campus for the fall semester in a hybrid capacity, combining in-person instruction with remote learning. Classes are scheduled to begin on August 31. Once student physically to return to campus, CSU staff will plan a robust welcome experience to continue to help students acclimate to the university.
CSU’s commitment to the health and safety of the university community is paramount. The university is continuing work with Governor Hogan’s office, the University System of Maryland (USM), federal, local, and other state agencies to monitor and manage the COVID-19 pandemic.
