Crozier Fine Arts, the New York-based art storage and logistics operation, has acquired Artex Fine Arts Services, whose holdings include 160,000 square feet of storage space in Washington, D.C.; New York; Boston; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Los Angeles. With the new addition, Crozier’s holdings now comprise 860,000 square feet of storage space nationwide and five crate-production facilities.
In a statement, Crozier president Simon Hornby said, “Uniting Crozier’s network of facilities with those of Artex, and leveraging Artex’s strong brand and deep expertise in working with museum and institutional clients, positions Crozier for significant growth and momentum in both North America and on a global scale.” He added that the acquisition will make for a unified coast-to-coast network with 14 storage locations and a staff of more than 450 workers.
Artex president and CEO John K. Jacobs will join Crozier in a senior leadership role. The acquisition follows Crozier’s appointment of Tom Hale, the former global commercial director of Lisson Gallery, as senior vice president and general manager.
