The visual directed by Micaiah Carter explores the space that surrounds the deeply intimate moments with a partner and the complex and delightful juxtapositions of physical closeness. Simultaneously, GRIP honors the communities that are nurtured within the walls of these intimate spaces and the monumental impact that they have on the lives of many people on the margins.
With this explosive return, it’s clearer than ever why serpent, an artist who has long been pushing the boundaries with his art and has come to be revered by the likes of Björk, Moby, Baby Keem, and many more, remains one of music’s most compelling artists today.
The release follows serpent’s explosive debut theatrical run with his critically acclaimed Heart of Brick show that will continue to tour the US until November 1st. Florida’s very own G6reddot (@g6reddot) is making a name for himself with the release of his latest project Z6. The 6-track EP includes tracks such as “326(get away),” “Mhmmmmmm,” and the beloved fan-favorite, “Hard.” Z6 marks G6reddot’s debut project & he’s ready to show the world what they’ve been missing. With fewer than ten songs in his discography, it’s an outstanding debut. G6 has been able to create an authentic fanbase that is anticipating his every release, he’s not coming to disappoint. Listen to the EP HERE.
Born and raised in the vibrant landscape of South Florida, G6reddot’s music is a reflection of his life and experiences. “Hard,” the EP’s lead single, provides an intimate window into his world, inviting you to explore the depths of his soul. When asked about the essence of his music, G6reddot revealed, “this release is about bringing my fans into the life of G6, giving them an inside scoop about me, and leaving them curious about a lot.”
Additionally, his music is a blend of various influences including heavyweights like Drake, Post Malone, Future, Young Thug, and Kodak Black. He self-describes his sound as “something you haven’t heard before.” In fact, just last month G6 was spotted with Sexyy Red & Kodak Black in a viral IG post that further built anticipation for the EP. What sets G6reddot apart is the authenticity of his fanbase, a passionate community eagerly awaiting each new release.
Not only is G6reddot a talented artist, but he’s an award-winning songwriter too. One of his most notable moments was landing a No. 1 on Billboard for writing Cardi B’s song “Up,” – and it stuck. “My first song I ever contributed to just so happened to go number 1 in the world,” G6 said. “A pretty big moment for anyone.”
G6reddot wants his fans to take away the raw, unfiltered reality of his music. He wants his listeners to understand the struggles and challenges of people in his neighborhood, saying, “When fans listen to my music, I want them to take away the gems I drop about the everyday things people from where I’m from go through – the mental challenges, the street life, and so much that comes with overcoming challenges in the ghetto. Those are the people I make music for.”
The saga continues today! Multiplatinum Detroit storyteller Tee Grizzley shares his new single and music video “Robbery 6” out now via Grizzley Gang/300 Entertainment. Of course, it picks up where he left off on “Robbery 4” and “Robbery 5,” which adorned his acclaimed 2022 album Chapters of the Trenches. Stream HERE and watch the music video HERE.
Ominous piano sets the tone for the track as tense 808s kicks into high gear. This anxious backdrop complements the intensity of his delivery as he lyrically depicts a pursuit in action, “Damn, I’m surrounded thinking, ‘What the fuck?’” Snapping back to reality out of the haze, he exhales, “I wake up out of breath, it was a motherfucking dream,” only for real life to get even crazier…
Directed by BenMarc, the accompanying visual brings his words to life in an intense play-by-play on-screen. It twists and turns with one unpredictable move after another.
It also lands in the wake of “Grizzley 2Tymes” featuring Finesse2tymes. It has already generated over 1 million Spotify streams and counting in addition to 2.6 million YouTube views on the music video.
Plus, Tee Grizzley just turned up at TwitchCon where he hosted a meet-and-greet. It quickly drew one of the biggest audiences of the day as he posed for photos with fans, autographed badges, and even recorded drops for fans. He connected with a few fans by noticing their tags from his GTA server. He also hung out with massive streamers like Clix—ranked as the world’s #3 Fortnite player and a member of XSet.
“Grizzley 2 Tymes” arrived on the heels of “IDGAF” featuring Chris Brown and Mariah The Scientist. The latter continues to buzz with over 4.1 million Spotify streams, while the music video has tallied 3.4 million views and counting.
Rising R&B favorite Marzz releases their new single “Fake Love” via Keep Cool/RCA Records. On the meaning behind the song, Marzz says, “it calls out the deception of a relationship. It also reflects a lot about knowing my worth and setting boundaries. It can be a little cocky but it’s ok because it’s a wrap and I’m cool with being myself.”
“Fake Love” follows Marzz’s latest tracks “Switching Sides” feat. Dee Gatti and “In The Morning.” Highlighting their signature silky vocals, these new offerings is just a taste of what’s to come from Marzz. Stay tuned for more new music.
It’s been a banner two-years for industry trailblazer Marzz as their 2021 debut EP, Love Letterz, solidified their place as a fresh face in the mainstream R&B scene. A captivating introduction to the Louisville starlets classic R&B and gospel influences. Love Letterz (Deluxe) released a year later with four brand-new tracks showcasing Marzz’s stratospheric growth.
From performing their hit song, “Countless Times,” at the 2021 BET Soul Train Awards to their late-night debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Marzz became the artist to watch. Garnering praise from the likes of Billboard who declared, “As for who’s got next on the R&B scene, Marzz can rightfully claim dibs” along with BET who stated,“…Expect lush, perfectly sung R&B…” from Marzz. Last year, they played a run of headline dates in support of Love Letterz and opened for H.E.R. on her North American Tour.
As an artist who blends their impassioned, choir-born voice with vulnerable lyricism and sultry production, Marzz hopes their music will fuel the listeners imagination to create their own narratives — almost like a magic spell.
Breakout rapper/singer-songwriter/actor Baby Tate releases her wildly ambitious new visual EP, Baby Tate Presents – Sexploration: The Musical via Warner Records. As the title suggests, the 5-track set is a bold exploration of sexual identity and taboos, relationships, self-confidence, and much more. Bursting with raw lyrics, catchy hooks, and club-friendly production from Justin Tranter and more, the EP is destined to be a crowd-pleaser.
Baby Tate Presents – Sexploration: The Musical kicked off earlier this year with the frenetic and high-energy single “Jersey,” setting the stage for Tate’s exuberant world of infectious lines and colorful production from Justin Tranter. The EP opens with “Luv Everybody,” a bouncy anthem in which Baby Tate proclaims her pansexuality. She also presents a cast of characters who join her journey of sexual freedom and exploration in the track’s visual. “Ain’t no need to fight about me, I love everybody,” she sings on the addictive chorus.
Continuing the titillating theme of Tate’s stage play is “Lollipop,” which spotlights the hitmaker’s vocal chops as she shows off seductive dance moves in a candy-coated setting. Also included are “Grip” and “Wig,” a piano-centric stomper in which Baby Tate showcases her rapid-fire flow. Throughout the EP, it becomes clear that Baby Tate is laying her beliefs on the line and connecting with fans in a whole new way. The ambitious project follows white-hot collabs with MFS and Tyler Cole — “Bow” and “I Don’t Wanna Dance,” respectively.
Those tracks were preceded by Baby Tate’s hit reimagining of “Hey Mickey.” Her original version, which first dropped in 2016 before going hyper-viral on TikTok earlier this year, has already amassed more than 100 million cumulative streams. She then followed it up with a remix featuring fellow rapper Saweetie.
The rising artist has been fusing pop, rap, and R&B since the release of her 2015 debut project, ROYGBIV, which she followed with 2019’s acclaimed GIRLS, and 2021’s After the Rain. When Baby Tate isn’t defying genres with her inventive tracks, she’s collaborating with her contemporaries like LAYA on the genre-bending “Sailor Moon 2.0” and JID on the 21 Savage-assisted “Surround Sound” from his The Forever Story album.
Baby Tate Presents – Sexploration: The Musical elevates the artist and performer, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter of her career.

Following its release, his music began to gain substantial recognition on Apple Music, Tidal, and Spotify.

Claiming his spot as a formidable HipHop talent, TOURE continues his prolific streak of releasing new content. This week he dropped the music video for “My Raf” from his recent project, Life Of The Party. Watch the music video for “My Raf” – HERE. Stream Life Of The Party – HERE.
Carving out his own lane with his unstoppable momentum, TOURE uses his lyrics to manifest his success. “My Raf” is a standout from his latest project Life Of The Party which has crossed over 2M streams in two weeks. In the music video, TOURE’s melodies hit hard as he croons, “Chasing my goals, I’m getting everything I’m supposed to get. Because I kept going I kept growing, I was supposed to quit.” His elevation is personified as he performs the song from different views in Milan, Italy, planting the seeds of global domination.
Life Of The Party is an engrossing project that evokes reflection and hard-earned celebration. Checking in at 12 tracks, it is an exhibition for agile rhymes, searing belief and songwriting versatility. TOURE opens with “Lost It All Before,” as he stitches block memories into an emotive soundscape for a map of where he’s been and where he’s going. Skittering across the frenetic percussion and pensive guitar of “My Raff,” he delivers a rumination on success and the isolation that usually comes with it. Then on the focus song “Lifestyle Vicious” featuring Grammy award-winning artist Vory [Beyonce, Jay Z, Kanye West, Meek Mill], his vocal tone does gymnastics as he contrasts the experiences of his ruthless past to his rich present and the intersectionality between it all. Other features on the project include Kie, YP Slumpboy, Yung Bleu, and Zoey Dollaz. Check out the full tracklisting below.
About the release, TOURE reflected, “With this project I’m giving you turn-up energy from all the fun I’m having. Instead of using my pain to make a record, I’m using the joy.” He continued to share, “I’m done competing with the artists from my city, I’m trying to compete with the world.”
Leading up to this project, TOURE took a captivating leap by collaborating with another melodious artist for the very first time on “Room 303” featuring Yung Bleu [Drake, Chris Brown, 2 Chainz] which was released to much success. Upon arrival, it permeated playlists across all streaming platforms including Most Necessary on Spotify, New In HipHop on Apple Music, Brand New Music on Amazon, Trendsetters HipHop on Pandora, and New East Coast on Tidal, amongst many more. During the chorus, Yung Bleu’s signature vibrato sensually glides over guitar-laden HitKidd production [GloRilla, Megan Thee Stallion, Gloss Up]. TOURE’s charm flows through each verse as he invites his muse back to his hotel room to romantically rekindle their flame.
This marks his third project in 11 months, pushing him to the forefront of the conversation on emerging artists to watch. In a recent interview with Talk Of The Town he shared his insights, “Independent artists, without a fanbase – I want to buy into you, you got to sell yourself. I remember the beginning of Future dropping project after project after project. That shit builds your character. Then you end up with 12 singles that you could go perform that people actually know when you put out a lot of music. When you put out one single, you go on stage, do that one song, and nobody knows the rest of your set.”
TOURE’s recent accomplishments include him being featured in Footlocker and Nike’s Philadelphia campaign celebrating 50 Years Of HipHop. He also shined in an eye-opening freestyle on Bars On I-95 showcasing his expertise with wordplay. Additionally, he achieved a sold-out headline concert at the iconic Theatre of Living Arts presented by DOPE Shows in partnership with Live Nation. Proving himself as a leading force in Philadelphia’s rap culture, he performed for 1.5 hours boasting an impressive catalog and undeniable mainstream appeal. TOURE floated through track after track including “Out West” from World Toure, “A.T.R.N.” from Only 4 The Trenches, “Game Time” from Hood Poetry, “Kisha” from ALL I WANTED WAS EVERYTHING, and closed out the show with “Federal” as the crowd roared. After attending the spectacle, Secret Philadelphia praised, “To not only bring people together like one big melting pot, but to also create that kind of vibe is downright powerful.”
The impact of his previous EP, ALL I WANTED WAS EVERYTHING, was immediate upon release, catapulting to the Top 40 on the Apple Music HipHop Albums Chart. High-profile endorsements poured in from Armani White, James Harden, Meek Mill, Tee Grizzley, Tierra Whack, Wallo267, and more applauding his unique style of storytelling from the trenches. The EP plays out like an audio map that guides you through all of TOURE’s songwriting multitudes. Tracks like “KISHA” exude swagger and confidence, while “AIN’T WANNA LEAVE” delves into raw emotion, featuring a poignant collaboration with EST Gee. His mastery of entrancing melodies glisten brilliantly over “Can I F*ck Again” as his lyrical prowess create a blueprint for pursuing an ex. Then on “I Got U” he takes inspiration from the cult-classic video game Grand Theft Auto, reflecting on his rich lifestyle with his raps.
Before this impressive journey, TOURE had already released a series of compelling bodies of work, including Hood Poetry (2022), Only 4 The Trenches (2021), and World Toure (2018). Stay tuned to TOURE’s remarkable growth as an artist as his presence continues to expand, solidifying his status as a formidable talent to watch.
King Iso uncovers his anxiously awaited new album, iLLdren, out now via Strange Music. Listen to iLLdren HERE.
He celebrates the arrival of the record with the music video for the new single “Feel” [feat. Tech N9ne & Matt Phoenix]. Watch the video HERE.
The song kickstarts this body of work with an openhearted lyrical bloodletting and cathartic chorus. Clean guitar underscores the verses as energy builds towards Iso’s starkly honest refrain as he hopes to “Put down the drink and drugs, so I can feel again.” The visual finds Iso, Tech, and Matt behind bars in an ominous holding cell straight out of a sci-fi nightmare. It brings the push-and-pull of their words to life.
About the song, Iso commented, “I was a teenager during my last suicide attempt. I took a bunch of pills, and I ended up at this church. I prayed to God. I wanted him to let me save that young boy who is me. I woke up the next day, and I had another breath. After I was admitted last year, I hadn’t been clean for a long time. I was smoking and drinking, and I had a bad breakdown. I felt all of the traumas come back. On the song, Tech, Matt, and I are all discussing our childhood pain and tragedy. It’s a beautiful way to begin.”
Right out of the gate, iLLdren has garnered glowing acclaim. Folk N Rock christened it “one of the most powerful albums of the year,” going on to rave, “With this album, King Iso proves that he’s not just a rapper; he’s a modern-day bard whose tales are as enlightening as they are entertaining.”
Thus far, he has bulldozed the way for iLLdren with the likes of “Nightmare,” “Young” and “Way You Are.” Opening up about his son’s Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnosis on the latter, the song has really begun to resonate. Autisticana affirmed, “This song shows just how important neurodivergent are to society as they can help raise awareness with their abilities and special needs, despite them being ‘different’.” Dancing About Architecture asked, “When was the last time such a song said anything this timely and universally relevant, yet this honest and personal…this important? Not for a long time, I’d guess.” In addition, it picked up plugs from Music Existence, Folk N Rock, and more.
Maintaining a prolific pace, “Way You Are” followed the equally tender “My Kids.” Beyond gaining traction at DSPs, it also landed plugs from VENTS Magazine, HipHop Over Everything, and more.
It landed in the wake of “Step Daddy.” The latter has already generated 293K streams and 152K YouTube views on the music video. It continues to gain steam though buoyed by fan enthusiasm, reaction videos, and excitement.
Multi-platinum recording artist Shordie Shordie and Grammy-nominated producer Murda Beatz add on to their groundbreaking mixtape series with Memory Lane 2. Listen HERE via Warner Records. The anticipated project is the sequel to 2021’s collaborative effort, Memory Lane.
Memory Lane 2 follows previously released singles “Contacts” and “On You.” Laced with searing production from Murda, the 15-track effort ventures into familiar territory as Shordie teeters towards the edge. All of the unavoidable truths and toxic behaviors he’s tried to keep under wraps over the years come together with a lyrical finesse that flows like silk.
Shordie finds fulfillment in weaving these disparate influences together to map out his feelings and make sense of it all. The opening track, “A Lot Of Miles” kicks off the Baltimore rapper’s sonic voyage. Then, there’s the explosive “Ride With Shordie Pt. 2,” effortlessly building on the momentum of the original track with the same gritty lyricism. From there, several standout performances follow, such as the Mozzy-assited “Enjoy The Ride” and the mixtape’s outro track “Bigger In Texas,” which fittingly ends on a chopped and screwed note.
Keenon Rush, the rising star from Atlanta, is releasing his highly anticipated new album, LA EX. With production from Malc James (Don Toliver, Do It Right), coupled with raw lyricism about the dating scene in LA, and his signature iconic vocal tone, LA EX promises to captivate audiences and solidify Keenon’s position as one of the artists to watch in 2024.
LA EX, produced by Malc James, showcases Keenon’s growth since his last release in 2022, blending catchy melodies, clever wordplay, and a high-energy delivery that sets the stage for a memorable listening experience. This album truly represents Keenon’s evolution as an artist and their unique ability to connect with listeners on a profound level about everyday situations through rhythmic storytelling.
Drawing inspiration from Kendrick Lamar, Tyler the Creator, and Drake, Keenon effortlessly navigates the intricacies of relationships and dating in Los Angeles, delivering a performance that is both authentic and digestible upon first listen. From the moment the album starts, Terminal 3 sets the stage for a “situationship” story that grabs hold of the listener’s attention and refuses to let go. Each record that follows shares a unique pov to different aspects of dating whether it be infidelity, lack of communication, demon time, and of course, the fallback. LA EX is conceptual and musically cinematic showcasing Keenon’s lyrical dexterity, beat selection, and undeniable talent.
The accompanying music video for the lead single by the same name is a visual masterpiece, directed by Malik Baker. Through innovative storytelling and striking visuals, the video brings Keenon’s vision to life by showing two people navigating the idea of being together while also looking sexy in the summer sun while seaside in Malibu. The visual incorporates inspiration from Dave Free and Kendrick Lamar with the use of iconic and serene imagery with angelic color grading.

THE EVIL GENIUS is the long-awaited and highly anticipated debut album from Grammy and Latin Grammy award-winning global music superstar MR EAZI. Set for release on October 27 via his own independent record label emPawa Africa, The Evil Genius comes on the back of a seven-year career at the top of the afrobeats music landscape, and an already iconic music catalogue from Mr Eazi that boasts over four billion global streams, countless multiple platinum singles across two classic mixtapes, essential afropop hits like ‘Skin Tight’, ‘Leg Over’, and ‘Pour Me Water’, and ground-breaking international collaborations with the likes of Beyoncé, J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and Nicki Minaj.
Recorded over the past two years between some of Mr Eazi’s favourite cities including Accra, Cotonou, Lagos, London, Los Angeles, and New York, The Evil Genius is an exciting musical scrapbook that blends afrobeats, afropop, gospel, hiplife, highlife and folklore into a glorious pan-African fusion sound in a way that only Mr Eazi knows how. The album sees Eazi collaborating with an international heavy-hitting cast of producers, including Kel-P (Nigeria), Michaël Brun (Haiti), Knucks (UK), and Nonso Amadi (Canada), as well as guest artists such as Grammy Award-winning legend Angélique Kidjo, Nigerian star Joeboy, and South African group Soweto Gospel Choir, to bring the 16-track project to life.
While his status as one of the giants of modern African music is undeniable, very few artists of his calibre have gone this deep into their career without releasing an album, and so for his first official album, Mr Eazi knew that he had to create something that would go beyond all expectations, including his own. The Evil Genius is Mr Eazi’s most personal work by far, and it sees him diving deeply into strong themes around love, betrayal, loneliness, and family, expressed through three distinctive movements or acts, throughout the album. The first of these three chapters finds Mr Eazi unburdening himself of the weight of success and fame, followed by a five-song movement about love, with the album ending on a suite of spiritual and deeply resonant anthems that capture Eazi in thanksgiving mode.
Described as a first-of-its-kind fusion of African music and visual art, perhaps the most ambitious and ground-breaking aspect of Mr Eazi’s The Evil Genius is its visual art component, with the album birthing 16 art pieces to accompany each track on the album. Every track on The Evil Genius is represented by a unique physical art piece that Mr Eazi has commissioned from different contemporary visual artists that he encountered while travelling across Africa recording the album. Noting a lack of alignment and collaboration between Africa’s exploding pop music industry, and the continent’s fine art creators, Mr Eazi is highlighting the power of such collaboration by incorporating the work of these artists – representing eight African nations and a continent of aesthetics – into The Evil Genius.
Ahead of the album’s release on October 27, Mr Eazi is inviting the public to experience the music alongside the art at several multi-sensory exhibition listening experiences. The exhibition debuts at Gallery 1957 in Ghana – a significant country for Mr Eazi, where he began his recording career and first rose to fame – from September 13-18. Following this inaugural presentation, the exhibition will travel to London as part of the renowned 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair at Somerset House from October 12-15. Additional exhibition announcements in other cities are forthcoming.

It felt serendipitous to be able to make this project a reality at the place where the songs originated. ‘sunset sessions’ means the world to to me, because I believe the live versions of the songs show the truest form of all these recordings.”

7X GRAMMY-Nominated singer/songwriter BJ The Chicago Kidunleashes new soulful track “Long Time” along with announcing his forthcoming collaboration album, Gravy with super-producer Yeti Beats (Doja Cat, Burna Boy) arriving November 10th via RTW/RCA Records.
BJ returns to a slower tempo with his latest single, “Long Time.” Produced by the talented, Yeti Beats and Charlie Bereal, this track marks the fourth official release from BJ’s highly anticipated upcoming LP. In his own words, “Long Time” is “one of those songs that started at 4 in the morning, during our first night at Al Green’s legendary studio. The inception of the song began with me on the drums, Charlie seamlessly weaving in the guitar, and Yeti anchoring the track with his bass. The song exudes an infectious vibe, and over time, it has continued to evolve, becoming one of those tunes that only gets better with each listen.” In the track, BJ finds himself constantly reminiscing on the “one that got away,” long after the relationship’s demise.
Gravy, now available for pre-order, was recorded with a live band at Royal Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, the hallowed home of soul legend Al Green. The ’70s mellow grooves of Al Green served as a profound inspiration for the album’s overarching sonic identity. Remarkably, BJ and Yeti, along with their live band, The Indications, managed to bring this album to life in less than a week’s time. Yeti Beats’s distinctive production seamlessly blends vintage soul and pop elements. When describing the project, BJ said, “Gravy smothers, covers, and makes everything taste better. The album Gravy is the persona of what the new cool is. It’s that feeling when you’re at your absolute best, got on your best clothes, exuding confidence in every step and word. This project embodies the very essence of how you carry yourself, how you assert your authority, and how you rise to the occasion. In essence, it’s the soul of the music, and in turn, the music becomes the gravy that defines me.” This fusion of musical styles results in a sound that’s both unconventional for the Chicago native and yet possesses a timeless quality that will resonate with listeners, young and old.

Steven Malcolm announces his 4th studio album, BOATS, dropping anchor on February 23, 2024. Today (10/27), fans can pre-add, pre-save, and pre-order the 16-track collection HERE. An official trailer for the project can be viewed HERE.
An acronym for “Based On A Truth Story,” BOATS is poised to transport listeners to a utopia of Malcolm’s creation. “BOATS will take listeners on a journey to Away — an oasis built for the chosen and run by the redeemed,” he shares of the concept behind the record. “Imagine a place where you become what you long to become. Imagine a place where your gift makes a way. Imagine a place where the beauty reflects the ones who protect it, and its foundation is held together by the stories of the broken. Welcome to Away.”
Previewing BOATS, Malcolm keeps the fresh hits coming with “40,” available today. The hip-hop heavyweight wages war against his flesh on the all-new original track that leads him into the wilderness bracing for a fight — listen HERE. Additionally, an accompanying music video for “40” premieres today — watch HERE.
The sure, steady, anthemic single tests Malcolm’s will, but he knows where his allegiance lies. “This song is one of my personal favorites. I’ve seen and heard of countless brethren falling away from the faith throughout my years of following Christ. And I get it 100% — actually living it, truly experiencing how wide the road to destruction really is,” he shares of the serious message behind the track. “In Scripture, it says Jesus spent 40 days and 40 nights in the desert to be tested. This was a prophecy He fulfilled before setting out to do ministry. I hope this encourages believers to always fight and stay armored up.”
Outfitted with magnetic vocals and thought-provoking lyrics, “40” is the second glimpse into Malcolm’s forthcoming LP, following spiritual workout “Cardio,” which debuted last month.
The Michigan native’s next studio set is the highly anticipated follow-up to his familial 16-track collection, Tree, which recently received a 2023 GMA Dove Award nomination in the Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year category. The nod marked Malcolm’s seventh career Dove Award nomination. Last week, Malcolm announced winners in select Dove Award categories when he served as a presenter for the 54th Annual GMA Dove Awards pre-tel, which was streamed across the Gospel Music Association’s social channels ahead of the televised broadcast on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN).
Pre-Add/Pre-Save/Pre-Order BOATS HERE. For more information, visit www.stevenmalcolm.com.
Two-time, Grammy nominated hip-hop artist Joyner Lucas released his new single “24 Hours to live” which can be streamed HERE and marks the latest release from his forthcoming album, Not Now, I’m Busy.
The song details Joyner’s anticipated reality and the series of events that would occur if he learned he only had one day left to live. He takes fans on a journey through his turbulent thoughts with lyrics like “take all his sh*t and then steal his identity” and “slap any hater that showed any jealousy.”
Throughout the song, he rides the beat as he also questions what others would do if they also uncovered a similar fate. With his signature style, he asks “would you go crazy because of it? Kill every n***a you holdin’ a grudge against?.” He later outros the song with audio of a doctor delivering the same unfortunate news, but laughs at it actually being a misdiagnosis.
“24 Hours to Live” is the latest in a string of releases from Joyner, whose previous releases include standout songs like “Seventeen,” “Broski,” “Cut U Off (feat. YoungBoy Never Broke Again),” “What’s That?,” and “Devil’s Work Part 2.”
Joyner’s last album ADHD, debuted in the Top-10 of the Billboard 200, earned RIAA gold certification, sparked a much-needed conversation about mental health and established a new template for success that independent artists could follow.
Robert Finley releases his anticipated fourth studio album Black Bayou, an 11-track tour de force that coalesces gospel, blues, soul, and rock into a raw, thundering tribute to Finley’s home state of Louisiana. Telling tales of the bayou from childhood to now, the 69-year old Finley takes listeners on a journey that showcases his growly vocals, sultry falsetto and cements him as a living legend.
Watch Finley’s new music video for “Waste Of Time,” filmed at Easy Eye Studios and featuring appearances from The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach. The video is a snapshot of the creation of the album, set to the gristly, crunchy, swaggering blues number from Black Bayou.
Black Bayou has already been heaped with praise from SPIN, The FADER, American Songwriter, UNCUT, Paste, MOJO, Brooklyn Vegan and a slew of other outlets, including The Bluegrass Situation who have hailed Finley as their Artist of the Month for November. Finley recently performed the new album on CBS Saturday Morning, giving a rousing performance of his singles “What Goes Around (Comes Around)” , “Sneakin’ Around”, and “Nobody Wants To Be Lonely.”
Finley recorded Black Bayou at Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville. It’s the fourth time the duo have worked together, although for this record they did things a little differently. Rather than write songs beforehand—as they did on 2017’s Goin’ Platinum and 2021’s Sharecropper’s Son—they conceived everything in the studio, with Auerbach leading a band of some of the finest players around: drummers Patrick Carney (The Black Keys) and Jeffrey Clemens (G. Love & Special Sauce), bassist Eric Deaton, and legendary Hill Country blues guitarist Kenny Brown along with vocalists Christy Johnson and LaQuindrelyn McMahon—who just happen to be Finley’s daughter and granddaughter. They worked quickly, devising their parts spontaneously and getting everything in one take.

After a series of unexpected hurdles that tested their tenacity, the dynamic duo Epikker made up of Suniel Fox and Henry Strange, makes a grand return with two deeply moving tracks, “VibeKing” and “VibeQueen (Rising High).” The two sonic offerings symbolize a phoenix-like rise from adversity, particularly following a regrettable turn of events after they shared their original production with Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, without considering what can only be described as a fiery legal battle.
From the shadows of a life-altering encounter with gun violence – an incident where Fox stood up in defense of his family during a home invasion – Suniel found a therapeutic escape in the world of music. His affinity with the impassioned depth of blues legend Muddy Waters acted as a beacon, leading him to craft the melody of “VibeKing.” This melody, originating from a haunting minor chord progression on a synthesizer, soon evolved into an emblem of awakening and resilience. Working alongside Henry Strange, their combined expertise transformed “VibeKing” into a sonic tapestry of raw emotion, blending crushing kick drums and expansive reverb over claps.
Just when “VibeKing” was poised to make waves, questions arose over the similarity to one of Abel Tesfaye’s works, “Call Out My Name,” igniting a lengthy and tiresome legal battle. Yet, every cloud has a silver lining. The turbulence surrounding “Vibeking” serendipitously led to Epikker tapping creative force and spellbinding vocalist, Luminiah. Inspired by the track’s pulsating rhythm, Luminiah lent her vocal talents, improvising over “Vibeking” and later penning the lyrics for “VibeQueen (Rising High),” a hymn about self-empowerment and reclaiming one’s essence. The sonic alliance not only rejuvenated the duo but also signified a new chapter for the duo. Through the ups and downs, Epikker emerged, emblematic of resilience and rebirth.
Its counterpart, “VibeQueen (Rising High),” elevates the narrative further. Adding a robust dimension to the song, Luminiah’s vocals are characterized by a harmonious mix of raspy and velvety tones, painting a picture of strength and gentleness. Echoing themes of resilience, gratitude, and new beginnings, the lyrics are bolstered by a powerful bridge, adding depth to its message. Together, each production not only stands as a stellar composition but also as a symbol of empowerment and metamorphosis.
