Rapper Cardi B is not seen as one to hold her tongue, but she may be rethinking a recent Instagram Live post after she began trending for the wrong reasons.
The Grammy-winner is now facing backlash after admitting that while she was a stripper, she used to drug and rob unsuspecting men.
“I had to go strip, I had to go, ‘Oh yeah, you want to f*ck me? Yeah, yeah, yeah, let’s go back to this hotel,’ and I drugged n***as up, and I robbed them. That’s what I used to do,” Cardi B said in the video.

Soon after, the hashtag #SurvivingCardiB began to trend on social media where people expressed their criticism at the admission and some claiming hypocrisy. The hashtag itself is a play off of the controversial docu-series “Surviving R Kelly,” where dozens of accusers came forward to describe sexual, physical, emotional and verbal abuse endured while they were involved with the now disgraced singer. The documentary led to recent charges filed against Kelly for sexual misconduct with several minors.
According to Complex, Cardi’s confession came as she was facing some criticism following her announcement of plans to write a book. “I am a rapper. I am a b*tch that came from the streets that came to the industry,” Cardi said. “I wasn’t a Disney channel star. I wasn’t a nun. I wasn’t a saint.”

Following the controversy, she decided to take a self-imposed break from Twitter.
Cardi B is one of the latest to fall victim to Instagram Live debacles. Singer Daniel Caesar caught major heat for comments seemingly belittling black people for “being mean” to whites while defending a controversial social media personality YesJulz. After being initially silent, Caeser finally apologized for his comments.
