Blue Waters Recognized as ‘Most Loved on DoorDash’

The emergency order regarding COVID-19 (coronavirus) issued by Maryland Governor Larry Hogan on March 16, required restaurants, such as Blue Waters Caribbean & Seafood Grill, to limit food service to carryout or delivery ordering exclusively. Forced to rework their business model, Blue Waters, 6349 Old Branch Ave, Temple Hills, pushed curbside delivery and mobile ordering options such as DoordDash.

With the COVID-19 mandates, Blue Waters Caribbean & Seafood Grill was recognized as the “Most Loved on DoorDash.” Customers and community come first to this establishment, and the owner was honored as such.

DoorDash CEO, Tony Xu stated in a personal letter, “this award is a direct reflection of how much our customers love your food, your restaurant, and the work you and your staff do on a daily basis.”

“We have always appreciated your partnership, but this shows how much customers appreciate you as well,” Xu added.

During this time of panic, it is Blue Waters intent to remain compassionate and considerate. The restaurant is a Black-owned business in Prince George’s County that promotes Black culture and chefs, while providing fresh and flavorful Caribbean and seafood specialties.  As Blue Waters is located in Temple Hills- an area otherwise known as a food desert- closing their doors in a not an option.  

Cooked upon ordering, Blue Waters Caribbean & Seafood Grill serves fresh seafood daily, delivered directly from local vendors.

“Our haddock, salmon and red snappers are a few of our fresh selections. We also offer non-GMO chicken, grass-fed beef burgers and fresh vegetables (broccoli, cabbage, asparagus, corn, spinach). There is no other Caribbean establishment in the area that we know of that provides non-GMO jerk chicken, curry chicken and brown stew chicken,” said Chef Derek T. 

While the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic is a very stressful time for many, Blue Waters is working to prove their dedication to providing fresh and quality food for area residents at the same standard customers receive in the restaurant.
