Ben Affleck appeared to lose his balance outside a Halloween bash in West Hollywood on Saturday night, according to a video published by TMZ.

Wearing a dark suit and a skull mask, the 47-year-old actor, who opened up about his recovery on Instagram earlier in the day, is seen grabbing hold of an SUV to sturdy himself after departing the Unicef Masquerade ball.

It was not clear what caused Affleck to stumble.

“Sobriety is difficult and elusive for everyone struggling with addiction,” a source told Page Six on Sunday. “Ben has acknowledged he’s going to slip up from time to time … it was never as if this was simply behind him.”

The father of three has long been candid about his struggles with substance abuse, telling the “Today” show earlier this year, “It’s something that I deal with.”

While addressing his recovery, Affleck also appeared to reference his recent dating habits in the same Instagram post.

“HA, you got me. I’m dating,” Affleck wrote on Saturday. “But let’s be serious for a moment and talk about something that is actually important. I have been in recovery for over a year and part of that is helping out others. @themidnightmission is an incredible organization that helps those in need with housing, training, development and recovery. I’m making a donation today because there are people battling addiction every day that don’t have the resources and need help.”

In October 2018, Affleck thanked loved ones and fans for their support after he completed a 40-day treatment program.

“Battling any addiction is a lifelong and difficult struggle,” he wrote at the time. “Because of that, one is never really in or out of treatment. It is a full-time commitment. I am fighting for myself and my family.”
