Matthew Marks Gallery, of New York and Los Angeles, has added to its staff Beau Rutland and Lindsay Charlwood, who will serve as director of exhibitions and director of the gallery’s Los Angeles spaces, respectively.

Rutland has been a frequent contributor to Artforum and Flash Art, and previously served as assistant curator of contemporary art at the Cleveland Museum of Art. His position at the gallery will involve managing its exhibition programming.

He is the latest figure from the museum world to join a major commercial gallery. Others include Andria Hickey, who left her post as senior curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland to become curator of Pace Gallery, and Toby Kamps, who stepped down as director and chief curator of Texas’s Blaffer Museum of Art to become director of external affairs at White Cube.

Charlwood had previously been a director at Regen Projects in Los Angeles. In her new position, she will oversee both of Marks’s Los Angeles spaces.
