On Feb. 18, the AFRO’s Baltimore Editor, Sean Yoes sat down with several members of the Baltimore Chapter of the National Action Network (NAN), to discuss the plight of the city.
Yoes was invited to the monthly meeting by chapter president Larry Young, host of the Larry Young Morning Show, on WOLB Talk 1010. The sometimes intense conversation took place after the group’s regular business and the topics ranged from the various political races, to violence, to possible solutions for helping some of the city’s most underserved residents.
Yoes also presented his book, Baltimore After Freddie Gray: Real Stories From One of America’s Great Imperiled Cities, and signed several copies for NAN members.
The National Action Network was founded in 1991 by veteran civil rights activist, Rev. Al Sharpton. The organization has chapters throughout the country. The group’s national conference is April 15-18, in New York City.
