WNBA MVP and Las Vegas Aces center A’ja Wilson just secured one of the richest shoe deals for a women’s basketball player ever.
Wilson, a two-time champion with the Aces, will also release her first signature shoe, the “A’One”, in spring 2025. The 28-year-old has been in the W for seven years. She’s won three MVPs, including last season’s first unanimous win since Cynthia Cooper’s in 1997.
From ESPN:
The former South Carolina national champion broke the league’s single-season scoring and rebounding records in 2024 and became the first player to record 1,000 points in a single campaign, finishing with 1,021 in the regular season.
Wilson also won her second Olympic gold medal this summer with USA Basketball, taking home MVP for that competition too.
The exact dollar amount of Wilson’s extension has yet to be released, but a report from Bleacher Report suggests that it could rival the Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark, New York Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu and USC’s JuJu Watkins.
