ABC’s Saturday Night Football Features Season’s First Top 10 Conference Matchup: No. 4 Ohio State at No. 9 Penn State in Annual White Out Conditions

ABC’s Saturday Night Football will feature the first Top 10 conference showdown of the season in week 5 as the signature weekly franchise televises from one of college football’s iconic atmospheres in the week’s most impactful game to the College Football Playoff race. Leading into and surrounding the pivotal game, ESPN’s networks will feature six additional top 10 teams, in both conference and non-conference matchups, a matchup of ranked Big 12 programs and 15 total ranked teams.

White Out Conditions for ABC’s Saturday Night Football: No. 4 Ohio State at No. 9 Penn State in Critical Big Ten, CFP Game
ABC’s Saturday Night Football will showcase No. 4 Ohio State at No. 9 Penn State (7:30 p.m.), as the Nittany Lions annual White Out game is showcased on the network once again. Two seasons ago, Penn State beat the Buckeyes in dramatic fashion in the White Out, as Penn State blocked a field goal attempt and returned it for a touchdown, giving them the lead late in the fourth quarter. Last season in Columbus, the Buckeyes outscored their Big Ten foe 19-3 in the fourth quarter in the come-from-behind victory. This week, a new chapter will be written. Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit and Maria Taylor will be in Beaver Stadium for the call of the game.

College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will be in State College, Pa., on Saturday morning, as the show televises from the site of the game for the second consecutive year and the ninth time overall, tying as the most of any matchup.

ABC Features Top 10 Teams Throughout the Day: No. 3 Clemson, No. 6 Oklahoma Host Conference Foes
ABC begins its day with two top 10 teams in conference action as No. 3 Clemson hosts Syracuse (noon) and No. 6 Oklahoma welcomes in Baylor (3:30 p.m.). For the Tigers, they will be trying to avenge last year’s mighty upset by the Orange, while the Sooners play their Big 12 home opener. Sean McDonough, Todd Blackledge and Holly Rowe will be in Clemson, S.C., while Mark Jones, Dusty Dvoracek and Molly McGrath are in Norman, Okla.

SEC on ESPN: No. 5 LSU vs. Ole Miss and Gators’ Head Coach Dan Mullen vs. His Old Team, No. 23 Mississippi State
ESPN will feature a pair of SEC matchups in prime-time, including No. 5 LSU opening up its home conference schedule vs. Ole Miss ( 9 p.m.). Leading into the SEC West matchup, No. 23 Mississippi State hosts Florida (6 p.m.) as new Gator head coach Dan Mullen faces his former squad.  Steve Levy, Brian Griese and Todd McShay will be in Baton Rouge, La., while Dave Pasch, Greg McElroy and Tom Luginbill are in Starkville, Miss.

SEC Network Features Tripleheader of Ranked SEC Teams: No. 1 Alabama, No. 10 Auburn and No. 17 Kentucky in Tripleheader
SEC Network airs a tripleheader of games featuring ranked SEC squads beginning with No. 1 Alabama hosting Louisiana (noon), followed by No. 10 Auburn vs. Southern Mississippi (4 p.m.) and concluding with No. 17 Kentucky hosting South Carolina (7:30 p.m.). The Wildcats are off to their best start since 2008.

No. 12 West Virginia at No. 25 Texas Tech, No. 22 Duke Hosting Virginia Tech Highlights ESPN2 Slate
Ranked Big 12 teams begin ESPN2’s quadruple-header, as No. 12 West Virginia heads to No. 25 Texas Tech (noon). The Mountaineers are undefeated on the season, while the Red Raiders are coming off an upset of Oklahoma State.   Anish Shroff, Ahmad Brooks, and Roddy Jones will be on the call. In primetime, the network will air Virginia Tech at No. 22 Duke (7 p.m.), as the Blue Devils are also unbeaten on the season. Clay Matvick, Dan Orlovsky and Paul Carcaterra will call the ACC matchup.

• ‘Canes Begin the Week: 16 Miami will host North Carolina on Thursday, Sept. 27 on ESPN (8 p.m.)
• Knights Look to Stay the Course: 13 UCF hosts Pittsburgh on ESPNU (3:30 p.m.), the Knights look to to finish their non-conference schedule unbeaten.

ESPN+ Reaches More than One Million Subscribers; Continues Streaming Impressive Slate of College Football Each Week
In the week following the announcement that ESPN+ has reached more than one million subscribers, the platform will stream 25 college football games in week 5 bringing its season total to more than 125. More than 10 conferences will be featured in the slate including multiple in-conference matchups.
