Baseball Tonight Hits the Road for Pre-game Shows in Arlington and Boston
ESPN will open the second half of the 2019 Major League Baseball season with an exclusive presentation of the Houston Astros at Texas Rangers ‘Lone Star Series’ telecast, presented by Geico on Thursday, July 11, at 8 p.m. ET. The Sunday Night Baseball team of Matt Vasgersian, World Series Champion Alex Rodriguez, Olympic gold medalist Jessica Mendoza and reporter Buster Olney will provide commentary from Globe Life Park. Texas Rangers All-Star Joey Gallo will be mic’d up both in-game and pre-game on Thursday.
The Sunday Night Baseball team will then travel to Boston to call the World Series Rematch between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the reigning World Series Champion Red Sox. Vasgersian, Rodriguez and Mendoza will call the game from atop the iconic Green Monster as part of ESPN’s Sunday from the Seats presented by Jim Beam series. Sunday Night Baseball is an exclusive, full national broadcast, and is also available on the ESPN App, ESPN Radio (with Jon Sciambi and Chris Singleton) and ESPN Deportes.
Baseball Tonight hits the road
Baseball Tonight will travel for two pre-game roadshows this week. The team, led by host Karl Ravech, and analysts Tim Kurkjian and Eduardo Perez will be live in Arlington before the Lone Star Series, starting at 7 p.m. on ESPN. The team will then take Baseball Tonight: Sunday Night Countdown presented by Chevrolet to Fenway Park to preview the World Series rematch on Sunday Night Baseball. Kevin Connors will host the show with analysts Eduardo Perez and Tim Kurkjian.
The Dodgers will be on ESPN back-to-back nights as the June 15 edition of Monday Night Baseball presented by USAA will feature the National League West leaders visiting Bryce Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies at 7 p.m. on ESPN. Dave Flemming, along with analyst and World Series Champion David Ross, and analyst Tim Kurkjian will provide commentary. The telecast will be subject to blackout restrictions in the Los Angeles market.
ESPN’s coverage continues as the second-place Tampa Bay Rays visit Gary Sanchez and the New York Yankees on Wednesday Night Baseball presented by Hankook Tire on July 17. Jon Sciambi, Eduardo Perez and MLB Statcast Analyst Mike Petriello will be on the call telecast at 7 p.m. on ESPN. The first two games of the Rays-Yankees series will be carried on ESPN+.
