The Woj Pod, the popular offering from ESPN senior NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, is now officially part of ESPN Podcasts and ESPN will start publishing the podcast beginning July 1. Although a weekly offering most of the year, it will publish with more frequency around major events on the NBA calendar.
“ESPN is committed to our podcast business, and as an exclamation point on that, we’re thrilled to have the Woj Pod in-house,” said Tom Ricks, ESPN vice president, digital strategy and marketing within ESPN Audio. “Based on Woj’s unrivaled reputation, his connections in the league, coupled with ESPN’s ability to present this content in unique ways, we look forward to continuing to serve basketball fans in the podcast space. We plan to use ESPN platforms and our multimedia promotional power to grow the podcast’s audience.
Wojnarowski added, ““I am excited and eager to launch The Woj Pod on the ESPN platforms. We will continue to sit down with many of the NBA’s biggest stars and most influential decision-makers, and we will also add elements framed around high-volume news cycles. ESPN will help bring an entirely new and fresh dynamic to the show.”
Among the most highly regarded voices covering the NBA and well known for breaking news stories, Wojnarowski is central in ESPN’s multimedia coverage of the NBA throughout the year — covering the league, its teams, players, free agency, the NBA Draft, the NBA Summer League and more. He appears on SportsCenter, NBA Countdown, The Jump, E:60, Outside the Lines and other programs to provide both news and feature reporting. He also writes for ESPN.com and is heard frequently on ESPN Radio. He joined ESPN in 2017.
