To celebrate the NFL Draft in Nashville, ESPN will channel the excitement and passion of football fans in a bespoke experience that will transform Tin Roof – a local honky-tonk just blocks away from the NFL Draft main stage – into the ESPN House. In addition to serving as a viewing party for fans, patrons will also be able to experience the football player journey at ESPN – starting with the college years and College GameDay, to the transition to the pros with the NFL Draft, and ultimately to superstardom on Monday Night Football and SportsCenter.
“From college football to the NFL, we are fortunate to play such an integral part in presenting every step of the prospect journey,” said Emeka Ofodile, Vice President of Sports Marketing, ESPN. “The ESPN House serves as a reflection of that journey and gives fans a taste of that experience, coupled with a look and feel that is uniquely and authentically Nashville.”
Player journey experiences for fans include:
- College GameDay: sitting at the College GameDay desk, as well as the opportunity to create signs and make headgear picks
- NFL Draft: enacting the draftee experience by stepping up to the NFL Draft podium, holding up a team jersey and standing next to a new locker
- SportsCenter: stepping onto a recreation of the set and sitting at the iconic desk
- Monday Night Football: taping a player video intro to air during the big game
Additionally, ESPN has commissioned a unique, illustrated and hand-painted mural by two noted local artists from Nashville: Lucie Rice, artist and illustrator, and I Saw The Sign (Meg and Stinky), a dynamic traditional sign painter duo. These artists have contributed to Nashville’s unique aesthetic throughout the city and their mural will bring the spirit of Nashville to life in the space.
ESPN worked with Octagon on the activation. It is open to the public from Thursday-Saturday, April 25-27.
