Whoopi Goldberg, 63, made her official return to ABC’s The View last month after a bout with septic pneumonia. On Monday, the EGOT winner revealed that she was hospitalized again after her life-threatening diagnosis.

Goldberg said, “I am here. I’m much better. I’m much, better.” She revealed gave viewers an update on the cause of her illness. “I had a 24-hour bug, which landed me back in the hospital last week, which is why I missed y’all on Thursday.”

Despite the recent hospitalization, Goldberg claims her latest issue “came and went” and wasn’t nearly as severe as her original health woes. “I seem to be doing well,” she added. “I’m here.”

Goldberg announced her condition after she was absent from the show for more than a month. She said, “So here is what happened: I had pneumonia, and I was septic. Pneumonia in both lungs, which meant there was fliuds and all kinds of stuff going on, and yes, I came very, very close to leaving the earth. Good news? I didn’t.”

She made her official return to the show a week later, when she disclosed the most frightening thing about her diagnosis “The scariest moment was hearing my doctor say to me, ‘You do realize how close to death you were? That was like, ‘Uhhh actually, no, I hadn’t thought of it.’ He said, ‘Well you need to think of it. You need to be really clear about what this is.’”
