On Tuesday’s episode of ESPN’s The Jump, host Rachel Nichols, joined by ESPN analyst and 7x NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady, sits down with 5x NBA Champion and 18x All-Star, Kobe Bryant. The Lakers legend invited Nichols and McGrady to the Mamba Sports Academy, a recently opened holistic multi-sport training facility in Los Angeles for young athletes, to discuss current NBA headlines, playing against McGrady, and players’ right to demand trades. The Jump airs at 3 p.m. weekly on ESPN, with a special three-hour episode Thursday Feb. 7, beginning at 1 p.m., to cover the NBA trade deadline. Special guests for Thursday’s episode includes NBA analysts Scottie Pippen, Tracy McGrady, Paul Pierce and Tom Thibodeau and NBA insiders Brian Windhorst, Ramona Shelburne, Adrian Wojnarowski, Zach Lowe and Bobby Marks.
On Wednesday, Feb. 6, at 5 p.m., ESPN Senior NBA Insider, Adrian Wojnarowski and Senior NBA Writer, Zach Lowe close out the NBA trade season with a 30-mintue Woj & Lowe Show: NBA Trade Deadline Special on ESPN 2. ESPN’s leading voices of basketball news discuss the biggest NBA storylines, recent trades, possible trades, and 2019 free agency.
Chiney Ogwumike and Treavor Scales will recap the NBA trade season with an hour-long Hoops Streams special on Twitter beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
The season premiere of ESPN’s SC Featured explores how NBA superstar Kevin Durant is shaping the lives of young people and uniting a community. Durant returns to his hometown in Prince George’s County, Md., to welcome 69 high school freshmen to his newly opened Durant Center – a College Track program offering tutoring, counseling and a study space to students from low-income families, many of whom will become the first in their family to earn a college degree. However, as Tom Rinaldi discovers, the center’s impact may be bigger. The feature debuts on SportsCenter Saturday morning in the 8 a.m. hour and will re-air in other editions throughout the weekend.
This week’s NBA on ESPN slate begins Wednesday night with the annual NBA and College Basketball Crossover on ESPN. Giannis Antetokounmpo and the record leading Milwaukee Bucks host Bradley Beal and the Washington Wizards at 8 p.m. Ryan Ruocco will provide play-by-play commentary with analysts Jay Bilas and Doris Burke, and reporter Cassidy Hubbarth. In the 10:30 p.m. nightcap, LaMarcus Aldridge and the San Antonio Spurs visit the All-Star studded Golden State Warriors. Rebecca Lobo makes her NBA analyst debut as she calls the action with play-by-play commentator Dave Pasch and analyst Mark Jackson.
NBA Friday’s doubleheader tips off in Philadelphia at 7 p.m. when the 76ers host the Denver Nuggets. Mark Jones will be courtside with analyst Doris Burke and reporter Tom Rinaldi to provide game coverage. In the 9:30 p.m. nightcap, the Minnesota Timberwolves face the New Orleans Pelicans. Ryan Ruocco will provide commentary in New Orleans with analyst Jeff Van Gundy.
The Houston Rockets and reigning MVP James Harden go head to head with Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder for this week’s ESPN NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC matchup at 8:30 p.m. Mike Breen, analysts Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson and reporter Lisa Salters will provide commentary for the night live from Toyota Center. Play-by-play announcer Adam Amin and analyst Jon Barry will call the game for ESPN Radio beginning at 8 p.m.
LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers visit Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers for ESPN’s NBA Sunday Showcase on ABC. Mark Jones will provide commentary with analyst Hubie Brown and reporter Israel Gutierrez for the 3:30 p.m. matchup. Play-by-play announcer Marc Kestecher and analyst PJ Carlesimo will call the game for ESPN Radio beginning at 3 p.m. Rules analyst, Steve Javie, will be live at the NBA Replay Center in Secaucus, New Jersey providing his expertise.
NBA Countdown, ESPN’s NBA pregame show, will tip off game coverage as host Michelle Beadle joins analysts Paul Pierce, Chauncey Billups and Jalen Rose to preview the games and give halftime reports. Former NBA and analyst Tom Thibodeau will be in the studio for Wednesday’s game coverage.
