Jada Pinkett Smith is using her Red Table Talk show to add to the discussion about inclusion within Hollywood.

In the upcoming episode of the Facebook Watch series, Pinkett Smith, her daughter and mother sat down with Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo to discuss race and the current diversity trend.

“Something that is kind of driving me crazy, currently right now, everybody is so woke.”

“We finally realized we can put Black people in films. That Will Smith isn’t the only Black movie star,” Ellen Pompeo said.

As the wife of a Black man with two biracial children, the White actress has publicly advocated for diversity. She recently called out a publication for lack of representation on set.

The table agreed with the idea that being woke is the “it” thing to do.

Pompeo continued, “Yeah. I hate to be cynical. I don’t want to be that person, but you guys are only doing it because it’s popular.”

The Grey’s Anatomy lead pointed out how White Hollywood is flocking toward entertainers such as Tiffany Haddish but aren’t necessarily trying to bring more diverse people into their day-to-day lives.

“You’re going to follow Tiffany Haddish on Instagram,” Pompeo assumed. “Well that’s all great, she’s a superstar, and we all love her. But how many non-entertainment people of color are in your life?”

The women talk about reverse racism, compassion and much more. Check out these exclusive clips provided to EBONY ahead of Monday’s episode below.
