Felix LA, a new art fair cofounded by collector Dean Valentine and dealers Al and Mills Morán, has named the 38 international exhibitors that will participate in its first-ever edition. The invitation-only affair, which will coincide with the inaugural Frieze Los Angeles fair, will take place from February 14 to 17 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

Canada (New York), Corbett vs. Dempsey (Chicago), White Columns (New York), Marlborough Contemporary (London and New York), and Jessica Silverman Gallery (San Francisco) are among those lined up to present work at the fair.

Felix LA is being billed as “a return to the hotel format,” in reference to the Gramercy International Los Angeles, which was staged at the city’s Chateau Marmont hotel in the mid-1990s. According to a release, Felix LA seeks “to create an intimate fair experience that prioritizes connoisseurship, collaboration, and community.”

Valentine said in a statement, “With Felix LA, we want to create an art fair that doesn’t feel like an art fair. Set in the stylish Hollywood Roosevelt, it’ll be more experimental, more communal, and more enjoyable. Our guests will have intimate, direct access to galleries and their artists, artworks at a wide range of price points, and to the pool.”
