A 15-year-old DuVal High School honors student has been missing since September 4, according to her family, and her case has been classified as critical with the Prince George’s County Police.
Janee Monique DeVille was last seen on surveillance video at Union Station purchasing a bus ticket to New York City along with her 17-year-old boyfriend who has since been found.
The two were wearing their school uniforms and are said to have been sleeping in parks around New York City since their disappearance. “Janee, if you see this, we love you, we miss you and we want you back home,” her father, Joseph DeVille, told News4.
Janee DeVille is the daughter of the late Army Sgt. Renee Antoinette DeVille, who was injured from a mortar blast during a tour in Iraq and held as a prisoner of war. She died at Walter Reed Hospital in 2008.
According to police, the parents of the missing 17-year-old boy went to New York City and brought him home but apparently never saw Janee. “He was the last one with her. He was the last one to see her, so only he really has the answer to what really happened,” said the teen’s father. He also noted that the 15-year-old suffers from a mosquito allergy and didn’t spend much time outdoors.
