Ben Hartley has been named as the new executive director of the National Arts Club in New York. He joins the 120-year-old institution following his time as an art consultant and, prior to that, in positions at the Brooklyn Academy of
Music, the Guggenheim Museum, and the Museum of Arts + Design, where he was deputy director. Hartley also worked as vice president of Ruder Finn Arts & Communications Counselors and as president of Louise Blouin Media.

In a release, Hartley said, “I’m overjoyed to be joining the National Arts Club. With a 120-year history and a dedication to programming ranging from music and literature, film, theater, and fine arts, to archeology, fashion, art & technology and architecture, the Club offers a panoramic view of all the arts, through over 150 free public programs every year. Where else can you examine, foster, and promote art forms from so many perspectives and in such great depth?”

Linda Zagaria, the club’s president, called Hartley “a deeply experienced professional whose background includes successful fundraising campaigns as well as high-profile organizational development with a broad range of organizations both in the not-for-profit and corporate worlds.”
