ESPN College Football Primetime Presented by Hampton By Hilton  features No. 2 Clemson under the lights at Texas A&M (7 p.m. ET), highlighting a schedule featuring No. 1 Alabama, at least one ranked team in every game window on Friday, Sept. 7, and Saturday, Sept. 8, and 15 ranked teams overall.

Dabo Swinney, Jimbo Fisher Square Off for Ninth Consecutive Year
The Tigers-Aggies matchup pits head coaches Dabo Swinney (Clemson) and Jimbo Fisher (Texas A&M) against each other for the ninth straight year, but the first non-conference matchup between the two national championship coaches. Over the previous eight meetings, when Fisher was in the ACC, each coach won four times vs the other.

ESPN’s Emmy-winning analyst Kirk Herbstreit will be in the booth, with Maria Taylor on sidelines. Rece Davis will call the action, filling in for Chris Fowler who will call the US Open. Davis, Herbstreit, Taylor  will be in College Station for College GameDay Built by The Home Depot earlier the same day (9 a.m. – noon).

ABC’s Saturday Night Football Features 99th Meeting between No. 13 Penn State and Pitt
ABC’s Saturday Night Football Presented by Wells Fargo will feature the 99th meeting between No. 13 Penn State and Pitt (8 p.m.) in a rivalry that was renewed the last two seasons, with both schools winning on their home field. Sean McDonough, Todd Blackledge and Holly Rowe will be at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pa. for the call.

ESPN2 Airs No. 1 Alabama and No. 11 LSU in Home Openers
ESPN2 features a pair of highly-ranked SEC teams in their home opener, as the top ranked Crimson Tide returns to Bryant-Denny Stadium to host Arkansas State (3:30 p.m.). Later that night, No. 11 LSU will play in Tiger Stadium, as they welcome in Southeastern Louisiana (7 p.m.).

Nebraska’s Scott Frost Set to Make Debut at Alma Mater; Cornhuskers and Frost Renew Rivalry vs. Colorado
Nebraska coach Scott Frost is set to make his debut at his alma mater on ABC, as Colorado heads to Lincoln, Neb. (3:30 p.m.). This marks the first time the Buffaloes will take on the Cornhuskers since 2010 and 70th matchup overall. For Frost, Colorado is a familiar opponent, as he led the Cornhuskers to victories over the Buffaloes in 1996 and 1997 as the quarterback for his school. The Cornhuskers week 1 game was cancelled due to weather.

Ranked Teams Pepper the ESPN Slate
ESPN will bookend the Clemson-Texas A&M game with ranked teams on the road, as No. 18 Mississippi State heads to Kansas State (noon) and No. 15 Michigan State travels to Arizona State (10:45 p.m.).

  • Additional Ranked SEC Teams Featured: 7 Auburn hosting Alabama State (SECN Alternate) and No. 25 Florida welcoming in Kentucky (SEC Network) will both kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

ESPN+ Features Maryland Following Their Upset of Texas; Kansas on the Road One of the 24 Games on the Subscription Service
ESPN+ will feature Maryland one week after they upset then-ranked Texas, as the Terrapins will be at Bowling Green (6 p.m.). Kansas will also be featured, as it heads to Central Michigan (3 p.m.).  Overall the subscription service will stream 24 games in week 2, bringing its season total to 75 games.
