Samuel Sey, a pro-ICE MAGA blogger born in Ghana who supports deportation, is now in custody himself for overstaying his visa. Tough!
It’s never our place to tell anyone who or where to put their support behind, but we surely wouldn’t expect a Ghanaian-born immigrant to be one of the biggest ICE advocates on the internet.
Then there’s Samuel Sey, a 39-year-old MAGA blogger and conservative Christian living in Ohio who has been quite vocal about his approval of deportation. Little did he know that Homeland Security would be coming for him next.

According to Religion News Service, Sey was arrested by immigration officers on October 21 at the Columbus International Airport following the discovery that he overstayed his visa after legally entering the United States back in 2022. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed with the outlet that he accepted voluntary departure and will remain in custody until he’s officially removed from the United States.
Sey, a Ghanaian national who grew up in Canada, now has fellow conservative supporters rallying against the system for justice. “As you can imagine, his wife, who’s at home with their 3 babies, is devastated and also trusting the Lord to help them find a resolution quickly. Please pray for all of the Seys. Pray for wisdom and provision,” wrote conservative blogger Allie Beth Stuckey, who pointed to a paperwork error being the reasoning behind his arrest.
A crowdfunding page on GiveSendGo has even raised over $30,000 for Sey’s family, with donations still coming in by the hour. In an update made to the page on Monday (October 26), his wife left a message that reads, “My husband Samuel Sey entered the United States legally and has been working ever since in good faith with a lawyer to obtain permanent legal status. Our family is trying to understand what went wrong in the process. In the spirit of Romans 13, our family fully supports and respects American law and are prayerfully working to get him home through the legal process.”
Funny how quickly those tables can turn, isn’t it?
