The former ABC News anchors tied the knot in a private Sept. 19 ceremony in Arkansas.
T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach have made it official: they’re husband and wife.
The former “Good Morning America 3” anchors, whose relationship became public and upended not only their stints at ABC News but their previous marriages, wed in a quiet ceremony on September 19 in Washington County, Arkansas. The county clerk registered the couple’s marriage license on Tuesday, letting the world in on the couple’s decision to jump the broom.
Robach, 53, and Holmes, 48, first announced their engagement last October on their “Amy & T.J” podcast. Reports surfaced last year that the couple intended to marry, with a source telling Us Weekly about their plans for the big day.
“They threw a small private party with their closest friends and family, and they told people they are engaged and going to get married,” the insider said last October. “And there will be a wedding.”
News surfaced that the couple had first become an item in November 2022, when they were spotted together while each was still married to their exes. Robach was wed to actor Andrew Shue, while Holmes was married to attorney Marliee Fiebig. Soon, the couple became tabloid fodder, and both were removed from the air the following month as ABC conducted an internal investigation.
Holmes and Robach left the network in January 2023 after negotiations between the parties broke down.
In a strange twist, the couple’s exes then began dating one another after their respective divorces were finalized and were invited to Holmes and Robach’s wedding. Robach and Holmes wed in Arkansas in a location near and dear to Holmes’ heart. The University of Arkansas graduate was born in West Memphis.
As far as letting the world know about their engagement? Holmes was reminded of how their romance came to be known in the first place.
“We wanted to let you all know before anybody else was able to; we’ve learned that lesson, I guess, in the past about our relationship,” he said when announcing their engagement.
