Rapper Kid Cudi has forgiven radio host Ebro for publicly discussing a private talk they had about Kanye West.
You care. Kid Cudi and Ebro Darden are no longer beefing after the Chicago artist shared that he accepted the radio personality’s apology.
In a now-deleted post, Cudi said on Thursday (Sept.17) that he wasn’t happy about Darden being loose with his lips about their private conversation. “Ebro, u were sitting next to me at dinner (not planned) and we were having a private conversation,” Cudi wrote. “Not an interview. U are thirsty, and I think u speaking about our conversation publicly is classless and I don’t respect u any longer.”
Explaining the conversation, Cudi said he “really just wanted to talk” and believed Ebro was being disingenuous and only wanted a story instead of a private conversation.
“I learned a valuable lesson today, never talk to journalist unless it’s for an actual interview,” Cudi continued. “Good thing Zane [Lowe] has a million times more class than you. None of what we talked about at Apple Park is a news clip. I’ll just talk to him. P.S. I’d really appreciate it if u don’t discuss me ever again. Thank u.”
Damn.
On an episode of The Ebro, Laura & Rosenberg Show, Darden told his co-hosts and listeners it was “tough” to forgive and reconnect with Kanye West at his homecoming concert at Soldier Field in Chicago.
In the same segment, Darden said people were criticizing Cudi for showing up, claiming it was about “forgiveness.” He also mentioned that Cudi has experience in dealing with people like West who struggle with mental health issues becuase he has a brother who suffers from schizophrenia.
Cudi did later return to social media to reveal that Darden did reach out to smooth things over, writing, “Ebro just apologized sincerely and I accept it,” he wrote. “All good now. Enjoy yall day!!”
The fallout between Ebro and Kid Cudi comes on the heels of the “Day N’ Nite” rapper calling out Darden’s Jewish co-host, Peter Rosenberg, after he said he was “disappointed in a lot of people” for openly celebrating West, who was not too far removed from dropping a song called “Heil Hitler.”
Cudi saw Rosenberg’s post on X and responded, “I understand ur frustration Peter, I fucks w u, but I dont really care if ur disappointed in me,” he wrote. “That man is my brother. U dont have a relationship w him like I do. Damn near 2 decades of art and friendship. U not family.”
I guess we are happy these two patched things up.
