$275,000 is nothing to sniff at even for multi-platinum rappers…
Like most celebrities, Nicki Minaj loves to live large whenever going out and about. But when it came time for her team to reimburse another company for footing the bill for her Pink Friday 2 promo expenses, things allegedly got messy.
According to TMZ, 24/7 Productions is suing Nicki Minaj and her company for a cool $275,000 claiming that they paid for her travel and hotel expenses under a pre-approved budget expecting that they’d get the money back once things wrapped up. They did not. Interestingly enough, Nicki’s team felt that $275K was an “extremely low” budget given her superstar status, yet, they still don’t seem interested in reimbursing 24/7 Productions for the chicken feed they put up to ensure Nicki and her team lived lavishly on their promo run.
Arguing that the hotels and travel along would eat up the entire $275K budget, Nicki’s team was negotiating an allowance that would include payments to a number of people who were working alongside Nicki during her promo run.
Per TMZ:
The email showed the team discussing paying $3K a day for a videographer and photographer for a total of $18K over six days. The team went over paying a seamstress/tailor $700 per day for a total of $4,200 for the same period.
In regard to flights, the team member asked, “Do we know if her son is going with her? Without her son, her normal plane rider is always over $2K each leg. Plus, she will be in the hotels for many days. I think the $10K rider allowance on the budget is a little low.”
As TMZ first reported, 24/7 Productions was hired to coordinate Nicki’s performance at Jingle Ball 2023, for which the entertainer was paid a reported $650K, and a week of promotion for “Pink Friday 2” in New York. The company handles on-site management, travel, staffing, etc.
24/7 Productions are using the emails to prove their case in a court of law against Nicki Minaj and her management team. While Nicki was paid $650,000 to perform at Jingle Ball 2023, she denies any responsibility for the $275K and is asking to be dismissed from the lawsuit.
