While people were vacationing for the summer, artists and gallerists were preparing for the upcoming slate of art fairs and events this fall. Art Fairs are an opportunity for artists to present new works, gallerists to present in new markets, collectors to examine which artists to invest in, behind-the-scenes people working to make this happen seamlessly, and, ultimately, sales… a lot of sales, like record-breaking sales.
Amid all of this, there are people like me who opt to write about when and how these art fairs come to fruition. A big part of my mission in the art world is to democratize experiencing the art world as much as I can. Today’s newsletter is your guide to Fall 2026 Art Fairs. Very soon, I will be publishing an interview I had this week with gallerist Tanya Weddemire of Tanya Weddemire Gallery, an independent Black woman-owned gallery in Brooklyn, New York. We discuss her preparation for the upcoming The Armory Show happening later this month and much more!
Affordable Art Fair | September 16–20 | New York City, NY
Each year they welcome nearly 220,000 art enthusiasts to their fairs globally, where they can discover a mix of local, national and international galleries showcasing a wide array of affordable artworks by established artists and rising stars. Price points ranging from $100 to $12,000.
The Armory Show | September 24–27 | New York City, NY
The Armory Show brings the world’s leading international contemporary and modern art galleries to New York each year. The fair plays a leading role in the city’s position as an important cultural capital through elevated presentations, thoughtful programming, curatorial leadership, meaningful institutional partnerships, and engaging public art activations. I am looking forward to attending this fair later this month for the first-time especially as I will be meeting up with two paid readers which I was able to comp their one-day pass!
Atlanta Art Fair | October 1–4 | Atlanta, GA
Atlanta Art Fair’s third edition will feature an inclusive roster of compelling programs and a diverse collection of innovative events, talks, performances, and installations that work to enhance the city’s existing community of artists, galleries, institutions, and collectors.
Untitled Art Fair Houston | October 2–4 | Houston, TX
Founded in 2012, Untitled Art is a leading contemporary art fair taking place annually on Miami Beach and recently in downtown Houston. The fair’s expansion into Texas aims to engage new audiences across the city, state, and region, adding another cultural touchstone to one of the country’s largest, most diverse, and fastest-growing cities.
The Superfair | October 2–4 | Washington DC
Superfine Art Fair’s labels itself as the leading art fairs in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Seattle, Savannah, and DC. Showcasing affordable works for old and new collectors. Art typically sells within the $100-$3,000 range. It’s been a few years since I’ve attended this fair but expect works from local talent and as well out-of-state.
ADAA Fair | November 12–16 | New York City, NY
The inaugural ADAA Fair expands the vision for supporting ADAA’s member galleries and engaging more directly with leading museums. Organized by ADAA, a nonprofit, peer-reviewed membership organization representing the nation’s leading fine art galleries.
Umbrella Art Fair | November | Washington DC
Umbrella is a space to provide economic opportunities for artists and creative entrepreneurs as a platform to showcase and sell their works. Umbrella is free to attend and takes no participation fee or commission from exhibitors, with 100% of all sales going directly to exhibitors pockets. I’ve been attending this fair for so many years that each time I am always impressed how they’ve outdone themselves. To me, this fair is a major local staple.
