A White man berated employees and threatened to call the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on them for speaking to customers in Spanish at a Fresh Kitchen in New York City.
In the viral video, the man is speaking to an employee at the coffee shop about the exchange.
“Your staff is speaking Spanish to customers when they should be speaking English,” the man says.
When an employee tells him that his co-workers sometimes speak Spanish in the store, he became upset and started pointing around at all the Spanish speakers in the store.
“My guess is, they’re not documented, so my next call is to ICE to have each one of them kicked out of my country,” the unidentified man says. “They have the balls to come here and live off of my money? I pay for their welfare, I pay for their ability to be here. The least they could do, the least they could do is speak English.”
