Serena Williams just C-walked her way from the NFL Super Bowl LIX stage right into our hearts! The tennis icon made a surprise appearance during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance at the NFL’s biggest showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Her cameo was just one of the many Black culture moments we lived for, alongside appearances from Samuel L. Jackson and a fiery musical set from SZA. But it was Serena’s stage moment that had us smiling.

Serena lit up the field, breaking out the classic West Coast dance move during Kendrick Lamar’s now Grammy-winning Drake diss track, Not Like Us.” Dancing alongside Kendrick’s crew, she stood out like the championship beauty she is.
For her halftime moment, the multi-time Grand Slam winner rocked a navy blue two-piece jacket and a mini tennis skirt, paired with a simple white tank. And let’s talk about the body—her sculpted legs, snatched waist, and toned arms were on display. Serena has been open about her fitness journey since giving birth to her second daughte, and she looks TF good.
Let’s not forget the glam! Styled by Angela Meadows, Serena’s hair was luxuriously long in platinum blonde wavy tresses that cascaded like a crown. And her Wyn Beauty makeup was flawless, thanks to the magic hands of Sheika Daley.

Serena wasn’t the only moment we loved in Kendrick’s epic halftime set. The rapper delivered a powerful, high-energy show packed with sharp transitions, flashing lights, and visuals that unapologetically spoke to what many may describe as “the state of the nation.”
SZA hit the stage in a bold, all-red ensemble, matching the performance’s red, white, and blue theme—a satirical nod to patriotism. And Samuel L. Jackson appeared as Kendrick’s conscious, donning an “Uncle Sam” fit.
Kendrick had the crowd locked in as he ran through hits likeSquabble Up,” “Luther,” and “All the Stars.” The entire set felt like a reflection of hip-hop’s influence and the cultural shifts happening right now.

As the first solo rap act to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Kendrick delivered. But let’s take a moment to give Serena her flowers—because she was the moment. She’s a legend, an icon, and now, a stand-out Super Bowl performer.
