A judge has ruled to reinstate the $53 million award in punitive damages to T.I. and Tiny Harris in their ongoing lawsuit against MGA Entertainment Inc. over dolls resembling the OMG Girlz.
In court documents shared by legal journalist Meghann Cuniff on X, Judge James V. Selna ruled to award the couple punitive damages after initially ruling against it. This paves the way for the full judgment of $71 million to be paid out.
“Upon consideration of the evidence, the Court grants disgorgement of profits of $17,872,252 under common law misappropriation and affirms the jury’s award of punitive damages of $53,616,759.”

The new filing reverses Judge Selna’s previous ruling in January, declaring that there was not enough evidence to prove that MGA infringed on the OMG Girlz’s trademark. A jury unanimously found the company guilty in September 2024 of violating the OMG Girlz’s IP rights with its L.O.L. Surprise! O.M.G. Dolls.
“We wanted to thank the jurors for just seeing us through this and believing in what we said. They heard our story and knew we weren’t lying. It’s amazing,” Tiny said at the time.
Added T.I., “It’s a testament to the relentless resilience of my wife, daughter, and nieces. We’re just happy we were able to come out on top and fight for creatives and our intellectual property.” His attorney, John Keville, later thanked the jury for “standing up to MGA’s bullying and misrepresentations.”
