Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles has finalized and settled her divorce from ex-husband Richard Lawson, but it looks like the 70-year-old matriarch will have to cough up a hefty amount of dough to her former spouse.
According to In Touch Weekly, Knowles agreed to pay Lawson a one-time fee of $300,000 to settle their divorce. Neither party will receive spousal support under the deal. Additionally, Knowles agreed to pay off any credit cards in her name obtained during the marriage and to cover all expenses tied to their once-shared household.

According to the report, the famous matriarch will get to keep the community property she owns with Lawson and a 2018 Tesla purchased during their union. She will also maintain full ownership of their 2020 Bentley and her Matriarch Book “deal” with Penguin Random House. Additionally, she will receive a one percent stake in Kirby Beauty Management LLC and will get to keep the furniture and artwork she currently possesses, in addition to creative works, ideas, drafts, and other materials she created during the marriage.

The agreement also specified Knowles’ separate property, which included her Los Angeles home, a property in Texas, all furniture within her properties, her personal jewelry, her retirement accounts, and any earnings accrued since their separation.
Lawson was granted all rights to his studio, artwork, jewelry, clothing, royalties, and his SAG pension plan. Under the settlement, the 77-year-old actor will maintain ownership of their 2021 Cadillac Escalade, and various bank and retirement accounts, in addition to assuming all outstanding payments due to his company, Richard Lawson Studios. He will also keep any earned royalties and all creative works he developed during the marriage. The judges ruled that Lawson would be responsible for settling the credit card debt associated with the Cadillac he previously shared with Knowles.
According to the court documents, the agreement includes a non-disparagement clause, prohibiting either party from speaking negatively about the other, their children, or their children’s spouses. Additionally, it stipulates that both parties agree to maintain the privacy of any current or future grandchildren by not discussing them with the media or others, either verbally or in writing.
Knowles and Lawson were married for eight years. The couple tied the knot in 2015 with a stunning yacht wedding in Newport Beach, California, surrounded by close family and friends. The romantic ceremony came two years after the couple began dating in 2013.
Unfortunately, the lovebirds’ relationship ended in July 2023 when Knowles filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. In her filing, Knowles requested that the court eliminate any potential spousal support payments to either her or Richard. She also sought to have her name reverted to Celestine Knowles.
