In 2021, I descended into Miami to experience Art Basel. As a newcomer to the art fair scene (and still considering myself one), I quickly discovered that Miami takes its art scene seriously, dedicating an entire week to it known as Miami Art Week. During the art week, the city of Miami, transforms into an art world hub, featuring more than 20 art fairs, with over 1,000 galleries from around the world, countless artists, tons of engaging events, networking, and, of course, selling art!
While creating these monthly art event newsletters, I reflected on how valuable it would have been for me to have more information about Miami Art Week and its surrounding events when I was there. If you’re gearing up for a visit to Miami during Art Basel/Miami Art Week, I truly hope that this art events guide will be a useful resource! Dec 5 – 10 – Prizm Art Fair at Downtown Miami
Dec 6 – Live Performance & DJ Set | Tribeca Festival at Art Basel Miami – at Miami Beach Botanical Garden (DJ set by Dangerous Rose, who most recently opened for Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour.)
Dec 6 – 10 – Untitled Art Fair at Ocean Dr & 12th St
Dec 7 – Conversations | Premiere Artist Talk: María Magdalena Campos-Pons at Art Basel Miami Convention Center
